No shit. Which makes me wonder if I should try to be one of the assholes.

You have to try to be nice. You don't have to try to be an azzhole. It's the natural state of man.

Once you ignore trying to be civil, empathetic to strangers, and start spending your day only trying to make youself happy. It's quite easy...

Yes.

Try for a day from beginning to end complimenting people and being courteous with a smile on your face. Especially complete strangers.

Sometimes it takes them off guard but they will be nice back.
Everyone likes a compliment.

The classic argument of is it better to be feared or loved.

I would rather be feared. Someone who loves you may do something against you . In your own best interest or theirs. Someone who truly fears you and your retribution will never cross you.

That does not mean you go around being an a-hole all the time. It means that people really think hard, very very hard about fffing you over. In fact I think the nicer you are the scary it is when you have to correct someones behavior. The
fear comes in when someone so nice, gentle and polite can be so violent.

Since when do we post forwards on CP? Did they tell you that if you didn't pass this on to 12 people you'd have bad luck?

It is better to be loved than feared. I'm a nice guy, but I'm also a big nice guy. I prefer to be loved, but when need be, I can give reason to be feared. Also, and most importantly, Karma is a bitch. Noone will ever kick me in the nuts... because there's only one. Karma kicks back, and she never misses.
