Chiefs President Carl President announced on June 29, 2000 that he named Dick Curl the club’s Pro Personnel Assistant. Curl was charged with scouting players with professional experience, either in the NFL or other pro leagues. Curl joined Kansas City after spending three seasons (’98-00) as the head coach of the NFL Europe’s Frankfurt Galaxy.

Curl returned to the Chiefs in 2006 to begin his second tour of duty with club. He spent three seasons working on Edwards’ staff with the N.Y. Jets for three seasons (2003-05). Curl has worked closely with QB Brodie Croyle the last two seasons, aiding in his development.

Prior to his first stint with the Chiefs he spent three seasons with Frankfurt. After joining the Galaxy in ‘98, Curl took the Galaxy to back-to-back World Bowls in his first two seasons with the club. He won the league title in ‘99 and claimed back-to-back Coach of the Year honors in the process. Prior to his stint with Frankfurt, he served as the offensive coordinator for the Barcelona Dragons from ‘91-92 and from ‘95-97. The Dragons made trips to the World Bowl in ‘91 and ‘97, capturing the league title in ‘97.

Before entering the coaching ranks in NFL Europe, Curl spent 19 seasons on the collegiate level, making stops at Boston College, Rutgers, Virginia and Trenton State. A former quarterback at the University of Richmond, the Chester, Pennsylvania native also spent 11 years as a high school coach before getting his first collegiate coaching job at Trenton State in ‘73.
