As many of you know the KC Star is laying off due to tough times in the newspaper business.
I've known Howard since our college days while he was at K-State and I was at KU. We even made a road trip to a Notre Dame football game because he's a huge ND fan.
I'm sure all you K-Staters out there that read the Star know he was the beat writer for the Wildcats and did a great job. Before that he covered everything for the Star, including Tiger's first win at the Masters in '97.
Great writer and good friend. He spent 24 years at the Star and is now out of work. I'm sure he'll land on his feet somewhere.
Just thought I'd pass this along for those who enjoy his work.
