There are some Chiefs fans that believe based on our draft that the team will win the first 5 games.

Anyone else think so?

I think Herm might be able to make week 1 more competitive than one might think. He seems to be at his best in the "us against the world" situations. Denver two years ago, Indy last year...those games shouldn't have been that close.

That said 1-4.

I'm being homeristic waaaaaaay out on a limb thinking we could go 3-2. It all depends on whether or not we can score points. I think all games other than the 1st game at NE we have a realistic chance to win.
The Defense will be the dominate side of the ball for the next couple of years.
It's all up to the offense.

We could easily be 4-1 at the end of week 5. All it takes is a close game in NE and a blowout at home against the Raiders. This team will be much like last year's in the fact that they'll win the majority of their games to start the year and then fall off.

Pablo
07-09-2008, 10:51 PM
If I'm being optimistic I say we only get our asses handed to us in three games.

NE beats us by at least 3 TD's and I'd be amazed if we amass 10 points, amazed.

Oakland and ATL should be fairly even matched games, it could go either way really, but I'm hoping we'll have some sort of balls in our home opener and pull out of a bore-fest with a 10-7 win or something like that. Same thing with ATL.

I think the Donkeys will probably beat us by 10 points at least and Carolina should probably do just about the same as the Donkeys.

It really depends, if our D-Line comes out strong or our O-Line, we could be looking at 3-2; but more than likely we'd have to have both meshing, and I don't think that's even remotely possible within the first 5 games.

I don't think there's much chance they'll win at NE. The other four are winnable, but I just have a feeling they won't get it done. Carolina is tough to figure - they can be world-beaters or very average.

I'm voting 3-2. I am expecting this team to take a different approach in the preseason this year. With season ticket sales dwindling... and a committment to a young roster... I expect the team to be much more prepared to play come opening day in New England.

A win in New England... or at least a very well played competative game... will do more for season ticket sales than anything. And a full Arrowhead Stadium cheering on the young guys could lead to an exciting season.

But the Chiefs know they have to make the first move to get the fans back. Look for a close one in New England.

LMAO I was wondering how long it would take you to hunt me down. That said I do find it rather amusing that most around here take the Oakland game as a gimme. I by no means think Oakland is a playoff contender they have however improved over last year. The Chiefs have done nothing that will show early results. They made long term strides but look much the same as the team that struggled last year. Time will tell :thumb:

Very True but that has no affect on the two teams we are talking about. Oakland was one of the best teams in the NFL for years and that does not matter now. The Chiefs have won four playoff games since the ALF NFL formed into the NFC AFC. Once again that means nothing as far as the future. Looking at the 2008 Chiefs and Raiders I can see no reason why anyone could think a game between them is a no brainer. JMO

Quite simply both Gun and Herm have made a living by their teams playing over their heads in games they shouldn't win.

On top of that the Raiders ALWAYS seem to have more talent and ALWAYS seem to find the worst ways to use it and lose. It's what they do.

And you add in the HC is fighting for his job with an owner that wants him gone...
