Band help

I was watching some drugs documentary on MTV last night, and they were interviewing some dude from a band. He'd served time in jail for, perhaps, robbery. I saw the name of the band, and I thought... oh yeah... I've heard of that band, but I want to know more about them. It was like.. M5 or MI5 or something like that. I think they were punkish from the 70s. Any help? I'm having a brain fart and can't think of the name of the band now.

Their name is always coming up in interview for being influential on other people, but I'd never actually listened to them or read anything about them.
