Have you heard the new Metallica? Its not from the new album, but its from Iron Maiden tribute CD released in Europe only through Kerrang magazine.

I just played it 4 times in a row...my listeners are on fire right now.

The tune is called "Remember Tomorrow". A bunch of other artist are on it as well, including Avenged Sevenfold.

And of course, with every new Metallica release, the Old Metallica Vs New Metallica debate goes on. But whats funny is, this debate has been going since the release of "Ride the Lightning":D

Yeah, and the band sounds alot better than they did with "St Anger". I heard the new CD, the one coming out in September, sounds like "Whiplash" on steroids.

Maiden's version is better, but the album looks solid.

I kinda gave up on them after they started to try to be a top 40 band. Curious to check it out though, thanks for the heads up.

They should stick to covers.

They really dropped off after the Load album IMO.

I didn't mind the softer Metallica, I actally kinda liked it. Re-Load, Garage Inc (with exceptions to a couple songs) and anything they made after that is pure dogshit.

Not even close according to peeps who have heard bits and pieces of it. It sounds like "Whiplash", thats what they told me. the new CD is inspired by Master of Puppets according to the band.

Early reviews are stating that it has something for everybody, as sort of hodgepodge of their back catalog. A few thrash songs in there, a few songs modeling their newer style. I posted a review of it in the Media section a while back, I couldn't find it. I took it as leaning towards more of an IJFA style Metallica for the review.

Metallica really lost me after that Napster deal...not to meantion that they are not really that good any more. St. Anger sounded like Lars was beating on a pie pan....bleh

They haven't released anything worth a crap since '89.

Interesting choice for them to cover...that's old Maiden, which old Metallica could not have covered, but newer Metallica should be able to...

...I hope they didn't fug it up, I love that song.

Remember Tomorrow is one of my most favorite IM songs, I have a soft spot for the 1st two records they had out. I do not want to hear this, if this is anything like that shitty slow song on their black album, like it probably is, I am not interested.

I like Sandman and that is it off of Black. All in all after Justice they became way too commercial.

I remember when the good metal bands never had radio play.

I'm guilty of NOT hating the Black Album, but I will say that it was the last album that I liked of theirs, and is my least favorite album of theirs...everything that came after was puke...including St. Anger.

Gotta love revisionist history.

I love how nearly everyone hates on the Black Album these days but it sold millions of copies and back in 91-92 nearly everyone was jamming to it.

Becuase people make it big other people are like, i used to like them before this album. So they go on a hate the popular thing rampage. Korn was the same way when they came out with their 3rd or 4th album. I like pretty much all their records up until the untitled one of last year. Its horrible beside 1 or 2 songs.

The Black album was not all bad but it was the begining of the downhill run that Bob Rock took them on just as he did with Mötley Crüe. Yes it sold millions and it drew in alot more new fans that had no idea who Metallica was prior to that album but to the pure metal head it was a "sell out" album.

I love The Black Album,it's actually what got into them. Though I will say that Master Of Puppets is my all time favorite, followed by Ride The Lightning.

God his voice is awful when he sings slow like that.

Not impressed with this at all. Totally sounds liked that abortion that was St. Anger. Hell, Load was better than crap.

That could have been totally worse. I like the music better than the vocal though, and James was at least smart enough not to do the "wailing " part...

I thought this was newly written Metallica stuff, this is just a cover and a poorly one I might add.

James can't come close to being the singer Bruce is/was but over all I really liked it. I've been an Iron Maiden fan since I was a kid. Metallica lost me after the black album but if the new album is anything like puppets I'll give it a chance. Still pissed off over that napster crap. Lar's can kiss my azz, hypocritical douche bag.
