Hey the god that is Parcells took a RT with a #1 pick but hey, he knows all.

I just love how the Dolphins could do nothing right and they would suck Parcells cock because they love him and want the Dolphins to be good a media favorite team with Parcells so there ya go...

Well Dorsey sucks anyway so we should have traded up for Long, placed him at RT and left Albert at LT. :)

He was a broken record over here, and yes I know he is on fatchatter. It was OT or nothing as far as he was concerned. Thought he was the only one right and anything else was WRONG. He would put up stats thinking it would support his case, but in fact hurt it. I like going over to fatchatter some, and he calmed down some over there too. I won't be clicking on any of his thread though.

SUPERSTAR

EDIT: Yes if I would give him credit for anything, it would be the articles that he posted, except for the Blogs that he would use like they were articles from a reliable source

The doc is stubborn and unbending in his opinions, but can be debated with if you don't allow that aspect of his personality to get you bent.

The debates I've had with him have been highly entertaining.

There were a number of us that debated Jake Long's athleticism and and feet with findthedr.

I think that Parker really had the most issues with him.

Warpath got pretty pissed at him also.

I followed him over to fatchatter, and we debated Long for another 2 or 3 weeks.

Superstar, Puhlease!!!!!!!!! findthedr, is so caught up in his view as the correct one, and should be the gospel that everyone should build their opinions on. You can't discuss football at the guy, because he's like a kindergartner who tries to shout louder than everyone else with his "stats" without any true analysis of his own .

Most people benefit from a change of scenery if they're not accepted elsewhere. This is one of those cases. He felt welcomed and appreciated at fatchatter so he flourished. While he's certainly culpable, it's not entirely his fault. Some of it is the culture of this site. While the Planet has many positives, it's a shame that this is one very large negative.

I take some of the blame myself because I cultivated some of the culture here.

Phob's right. Findthedr was very cool on fatchatter. Didn't seem like the same guy.

I suppose that's because if you have a minority opinion here... you get 15 people telling you how wrong you are. Feels like a pile-on... So, yeah... maybe he got defensive.

If you're an established poster... you get a lot more slack.

Phil's right though.

It isn't "Jake Long struggling against speed rushers".

It's "Guess who's struggling against speed rushers".

There's a "We told you so" attitude in that.

even if he isn't another Roaf or Ogden (who is), it's not like this would be a real 'miss' by miami... he was probably going top three if not #1 no matter who was up there.

i suspect he'll be fine. i'm sure it is a big adjustment to the NFL where you see rushers every week who might have been the best end you saw all season in college.

A quick google got this.

http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2008/jul/28/30gtlong-day-for-dolphins-offensive-line/

DAVIE — Every little step counts when you're an offensive lineman, and bad ones often can be costly. At least, it was for Jake Long on Sunday.

Long took too wide an angle trying to contain speedy outside linebacker Charlie Anderson during an 11-on-11 scrimmage-like situation. That mistake allowed Anderson to use his arm to get Long off balance, creating an alley for him to get past the No. 1 pick, pressuring quarterback John Beck.

Immediately following the play coach Tony Sparano made a beeline to his starting left tackle — the same one whose footwork he was glowing about earlier in the day — and gave him an animated earful.

While the words weren't audible from the stands, it's not difficult to imagine what the topic of discussion was. And it's likely that the Dolphins entire offensive line heard a similar "you've got to do better" lecture following Sunday's practice session, which featured about half-a-dozen would-be sacks like Long's.

"Going up against him, a speed guy every day, makes me a little better," Long said of Anderson.

WHO”S UP

The defense excelled, but individually, OLB Charlie Anderson continues to impress coaches and teammates alike with his speed-rushing skills. He repeatedly torched No. 1 pick Jake Long for a couple of non-contact sacks, including one in which the 310-pound Long hit the ground. “He deserved the No. 1 pick, so I’m glad I’m going against him every day, helping him get better and getting better myself,” Anderson said. “I think his momentum might have been going that way, I just helped him out.”

WHO’S DOWN

Long would be the first to admit he had a tough day in pass defense as both Anderson and OLB Quentin Moses were able to sneak past him for non-contact sacks of Beck and Henne.

“The defense came real hard at us today and that makes for good competition and hard work to come out tomorrow and be better,” Long said.
