No real surprises except for maybe MLB.

Jackie Battle as a the 2nd string RB is a surprise

Damn, Herb Taylor is our back up LT, I would hope in the case of an injury Mac would move back over, knocking on wood now. Definitely lite at 2nd string OL.

I'll go on record as saying I like Jackie Battle, I don't know about #2 RB, but the dude is a bruiser.

I'd like to see Boone in Edwards spot and McBride at LE but I'm not at camp. Bernard Pollard, start hitting or the rook is right there behind you.

After looking at the roster I'm thinking 2-14.

Carr's the Nickel?
I thought that was Brackenridge's gig?

Svitek continues to dissapoint. I thought he could be more productive at RT and get a big push for a run blocking scheme, but looks like his days are numbered.

Amazing what a 5th round pick and getting knocked out by a metro in the off season will do for your job.

I see what they are doing though with Boone. Edwards is best at taking on two blockers all the time and that will be good for Dorsey. Fact is we are a little weak at DE when it comes to pash rush but maybe Johnston (seventh round) can help in situations.

I'm also surprised to see Jackie Battle ahead of Kolby Smith.

Jackie Battle ahead of Smith and Charles? Seriously?

What happened to Kevin Robinson? It has him as injured.

I'm guessing it has more to do with BLOCKING ability than running ability.

I believe he had his knee scoped a few weeks back.

Chan Gailey himself said that this offense prefers large, powerful Running backs.

Kolby smith isn't big and while he was serviceable, isn't powerful or possess bigtime speed.

Will the Chiefs try to move him, should Battle get the #2 with Charles as the 3rd down back?

I'm also surprised to see Manderino as the #1 FB, when I've been hearing so much about Hoyte and Cox.

Then he should be fine.

It's highly unlikely that the regular season week one depth chart will look much like PRE-season week one depth chart. There will be many more "what's" and "why's" in the next couple of weeks when fans see the depth charts.

Also, John Paul Foschi as our 3rd TE? Michael Allan must not have had much outside of a "good for a 7th round rookie" last year.

This depth chart doesn't say much.
It can't. I can't see Battle making the team much less being the backup.

Michael Allan at 4th TE isn't promising.

The Barth/Novak issue is a rotational thing also

I heard in one report, can't remember which one, that Battle was doing really well running the ball.

A little surprised about Allen I expected him at 3. Maybe just trying to elevate his game? Same with Harris???

Since when do people take the depth chart seriously during the first week of camp?

I'm kind of surprised that Charles is the 3rd option at the return. I figured him as the returner.

Sams is a veteran returner with a decorated past.

Sure he hasn't worked out with his previous team but I'm sure he'll revert to form here.

It's not like we haven't been in this exact same situation before and ended up with one of the NFL's worst return games...

I mean it's not like Charles was drafted for his speed or anything.

Observing Herm Edwards tinker with a Roster is not unlike observing Barak Obama trying to tinker with Foreign Policy; it's like some silly, stupid rich kid who got a new toy that they've never seen before.

I would imagine that there's a psychological issue in regards to the depth chart.

Jackie Battle over Smith & Charles?

What should that tell you?

If you don't know the answer, you're not thinking like a coach.

I see our schedule and see a bunch of winnable games, then I see our roster and see most of those wins will be by the other team. We are thin.....

Kolby smith was carted off the practice field yesterday. With jackie battle coming on strong, it might be time for kolby's walking papers (or carting off papers in this case)

That and I think Gailey coached him in college

The Barth/Novak issue is a rotational thing also

I watched Novak kick two back to back kicks, wide left and wide right respectively last night when warming up before the scrimmage. I can't remember exactly but, I think they may have been 35-40 yards out.

Actually Battle looks good. Outside of LJ he was busting most of the second-level runs. I think Dantrell Savage had one or two also.

Like Herm said, Charles isn't keeping his feet, if you fall down before anyone touches you, you probably need some motivation.

interesting?
Tank is still on the bench.
McBride in starting.
Sams is still the returner
Thigpin is 2nd string QB

The Tank\Turk thing is exactly opposite of what I figured it would be...

...I hope Savage pulls it off and is the returner over Sams.

...what in the hell is wrong with Will Svitek?????
