Meche v Buchholz (this guy seriously has a double-h in his name)

Pitching matchup favors the good guys, and with the way we've been swinging the bats recently I fully expect a win tonight.... weird considering it's the Red Sox. and it's August.

* oh, and all aboard the Mike Aviles Express, named AL co-player of the week.

My folks gave me some genuine holy water to use, from their church.

But i will only use it in emergencies. I don't deem this as such.

Just only on......for example, a game 6 of a World Series. :D

I just wish he'd have confidence in his stuff and go after guys. He messes around with average hitters way too much, IMO, hence the high pitch count in the sixth inning every start.

I just wish he'd have confidence in his stuff and go after guys. He messes around with average hitters way too much, IMO, hence the high pitch count in the sixth inning every start.

That's always been my gripe about Meche. He's a solid pitcher, but he f**ks off way too much than he normally should, especially getting a 0-2 count, where for some reason, he wants to f**k off 3 wasted pitches.

1 wasted pitch is OK with me. But 3 in a row? Inexcuseable. Just f**king jam him inside.

We're gonna have an uphill battle with Bannister vs. Beckett tomorrow.

I will say though, Hillman has done some good things and some bad things. But I do like how in this recent hot streak, he's kept the lineup pretty much the same the last 3-4 days while the offense is hot. Buddy Bell would've never done that.

Of any team in our division I hate those bastards the most(yes even over the Chisox) their fans(and I've been to games there and here) are the most obnoxious pricks I've ever put up with.

Really? I haven't had much experience with any asshat MN fans. Interesting...

If that losing streak is a winning streak, they're in first place right now.

Meche outside of the first inning was really dealing tonight. What a grinder he was tonight.
Dude takes flack sometimes, I don't know why. He may not be a true, true ace. But I think you could easily make a case he's pitched like a #2 in his time here. Throws mid-90's, nasty curve and solid speed stuff. He's pretty much had one really bad month his whole time here, and that was April this year. Well worth 11 million a year in today's current market. Normally 11 million gets you a guy like Jeff Suppan anymore.

But instead, Meche is 7-2 since June 1.

And since May 1.... Meche has a 3.27 ERA and 92 K in 113 IP. Maybe it's not Johan Santana, but that's not average. That's good, at least I think so. If you got 5 guys pitching like that, you're making the playoffs.

I think we are two players away from a playoff team. Like any combination of outfielder and starting pitcher. I mean, two outfielders, one outfielder and one starting pitcher or two starting pitchers. More than that is gravy.

To be a serious contending team, the Royals must get at least one LH starter. You have to be able to turn teams around in the post-season, if not on the way there.
