My uncle from New York, just sent me a message. He's been a season ticket holder since the first year of the Jets. That was the early 60's, but I don't remember the exact year. Anyway, his message stated that it's in the New York media today that Chad Pennington will be announced as the new STARTING QB for the Chiefs today at 3:00pm! :cuss: I've not talked with him in person. You can take it for what it's worth. I'm not saying it's a fact or in stone. I'm just relaying the message to you that I got from a Jet's season ticket holder.

Personally, I wouldn't mind adding Pennington to the roster as a backup, and ONLY as a backup. Also, I wouldn't want to give much of a draft pick for him. I'd be OK with picking him up if he's released, but not giving a draft pick. I don't see that Pennington is much better or much different than Huard.

Would Pennington really want to come here to be a backup anyway? I have to admitt I'm a little torn on this one. I really want Croyle to be given every chance to be our qbotf and not feeling like he's having to look over his shoulder at Chad all the time. On the other hand when healthy Pennington is better than Huard by a long shot and would be a pretty decent back up. Don't know... what ever happens, happens.
