Bear Meat Loaf
2 lb ground meat
1/2 cup milk
2 eggs
salt and pepper to taste
1/4 tsp. thyme
1/4 tsp. oregano
3/4 cup tomato sauce
1 cup onion, minced
1 1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1 cup bread crumbs
1/2 green pepper, finely chopped,
I also add 1 small can of mushrooms or fresh mushrooms.
Bake at 350 until done (about an hour).
When it looks close to being done, maybe 15 minutes,
I spread either BBQ sauce or ketchup over the top.

CB: Regarding your snake question, the garter can be substituted for rattler, BUT, the garter has glands which would make the meat taste rather musky, so I would NOT recommend it.

As for your second question: As long as your " particularly slow neighbor woman" doesn't have a box that smells like a shit house door on a tuna boat, I would say that would be ok. The benefit would be, she is slow and the danger factor would be greatly decreased in this instance.
