Who had the most impressive rookie performance of the past ten seasons? In the accompanying poll, I will take you on a breathtaking ride through the glory of seasons past, where future stars first ignited in the Chiefs universe. I shall present you with the names of legends, of opportunistic journeymen, and of bullfrogs who happened to be in the right place at the right time.

So hang onto your seats, and join me for an always exhilarating, sometimes shocking, and occasionally baffling look at the top rookie performances between 1998 and 2007.

Poll forthcoming.

Snoop made the all rookie highlight reel with that leaping extended TD catch against the Raiders in 01. Great play.

WTF? No Ryan Sims? His performance at Krispy Kreme was phenomenal.

Seriously though Bowe and Hali

Hali had an amazing rookie season. Unfortunately, as Mecca predicted and has reminded us subsequently, that he topped out there.

I voted for Bowe, Hali, and Allen.

Hali's first year was just insane. He simply ahsn't grown since then.

I really don't see how someone couldn't vote for Allen here, despite any ill will towards his departure.

And this is why I don't like drafting guys with no upside.

Hey, it would have been a great pick at #55.

That sums it up.....I wonder where that dude is that told me Hali was a better pick than Cromartie is....hell some were still saying that 13 weeks into last season...just makes me shake my head.

I had to go with Page as one of my three simply for the fact that as a 7th round pick he exceeded most expectations.

Who would you have drafted there???

Hali was a nice safe pick in that spot. Really the only star defensive player drafted soon after Hali is DeMeco Ryans.

Morris had a great rookie year.

Sly had a great rookie year.

Riley have us reason to think we might be set there for years.

DJ had the most talent but was clearly a let down as a rookie (and so far.)

My guess would be some local bar, working as bouncers.

As for me, I thought Bowe was a no-brainer as #1, and Hali was a clear #2.

The #3 position was harder, between Allen, D. Johnson, and Wesley. I probably should've voted for Wesley or DJ since they started all 16 games, but I couldn't bring myself to not vote for a guy who got 9 sacks in half a season, even if he was a bit weak against the run that year. I sure wish they'd've started him all year.

Bowe without question. 5 yards away from 1k as a rookie is quite impressive. No one else is even close IMO.
