Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Tuesday that the club has made four transactions in anticipation of the NFL’s first mandatory cutdown deadline. Kansas City placed WR Kevin Robinson the Reserve/Physically-Unable-to-Perform List. The club has also released DT Maurice Murray, DE Jonal Saint-Dic and T Ken Shackleford.
Robinson (5-11, 196) joined Kansas City as the club’s second of two sixth-round picks (182nd overall) in the 2008 NFL Draft. He played in 46 games (36 starts) at Utah State, catching 178 passes for 2,485 yards (14.0 avg.) with 21 TDs and rushing 35 times for 165 yards (4.7 avg.) with a TD. He also returned 110 kickoffs for 2,725 yards (24.8 avg.) with four TDs and 78 punts for 1,104 yards (14.2 avg.) with four scores.
Murray (6-3, 334) originally entered the NFL as a rookie free agent with Kansas City in 2008. He saw action in 22 games (eight starts) at New Mexico State, registering 48 tackles (14 solo), 4.0 sacks (-11.0 yards) and 7.0 tackles for loss. He began his collegiate career at Long Beach City College after a standout prep career at Long Beach Poly High School.
Saint-Dic (6-0, 253) joined the Chiefs as a rookie free agent out of Michigan State in 2008. He appeared in 24 contests (14 starts) for the Spartans, posting 71 tackles (39 solo), 13.0 sacks (-116.0 yards), 19.0 tackles for loss (-129.0 yards), one pass defensed, 10 forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. The Port-te-Prince, Haiti native led the Big Ten Conference with eight forced fumbles as a senior in 2008 to go with 47 tackles (22 solo) and 10.0 sacks (-75.0 yards).
Shackleford (6-5, 365) entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick (190th overall) of St. Louis in 2007 before joining the Chiefs this offseason. He played in 46 games (14 starts) at Georgia and only allowed one sack during his career with the Bulldogs. He started all 13 games at offensive tackle as a senior in 2006.
