My surgery is in 1.5 hours...

Never had surgery before and I'm sorta nervous...

What is general anesthesia like???

How many, and are they being pulled out, or cut out?

Oh man. I feel sorry for you. After you pass out, the dentist is going to molest you. Just wear clean underwear.

Its really nothing to be afraid of. You'll remember counting backwards from 10, then the next thing you'll know you'll wake up with a mouthful of cotton. You'll be in good shape later this afternoon.

Ask for Sodium Pentathol. It's much better than the newer stuff.

Make sure you follow his directions....

Especially the part about cleaning out the craters left behind with a syringe.

truth serum???

In low doses it is. My dental surgeon used it when I had my wisdom teeth pulled. It was about 10 seconds of a great high before I went under.

Being knocked out isn't too bad, the only thing is whenever I put under anesthesia, I always throw-up about 5 or 6 hours after coming out from under the effects of it.

I was playing golf 2 days after I had my wisdom teeth taken out. 2 of mine weren't impacted too bad.

I had a co-worker that I think was upset that it wasn't worse then what it was. She was telling me about her horror story of getting the wisdom teeth pulled.

Be glad you're being knocked out for this, you don't want to be awake when they're yanking on your jaw.

My experience was rather strange they gave me this drug called Versed. This drug was so strong I had a taste hallucination, if you can believe it. I'm in the recovery room, my mouth packed full of cotton to stop the bleeding and I tasted Grape! Like I was sucking on a grape lollipop. Strangest sensation I ever felt.

I had all four of mine removed two were deeply impacted. Thank God for Lortabs afterwords because I swelled up like a chipmunk.

Yeah and OntheWarpath58 is right keep your holes cleaned out with the syringe the doc gives ya.

Good Luck!!

Just follow the post-surgery instructions closely ... I didn't and got a dry socket, trust me, you DO NOT want a dry socket

Make sure they give you the cleaner thing. Food gets down in the holes and you have to clean it out regularly or it can cause problems.

It sucked for me...but mine where very impacted and two had to be "chipped" out. Knocked me out...woke up with a mouth full of cotton and my buddy gave me a ride home. The surgeon then gave him his number and said if the bleeding got any worse to call that night. We ended up going back down that night to get re-sewed up. Then my face swelled up and I had two black eyes. They said I would be fine the next day. Not the case. I was hurting for a good week and could not run or work out at all. It sucked...buy mine were very impacted.

Do clean out the "craters" regularly...

Ok, Im going in.

So it sounds like the most important thing is to keep food and shit out of the holes, and to clean them regularly.

I dont know if I'll be back on here later, but if I am, what foods are good? Yogurt, soup?

And should I just avoid eating altogether today?

OMG!

That is THE worst pain I have ever experienced in life.
Follow all of the doctor's instructions!!!

They didnt give me any syringes, but just some gauze.

I was way too over-worried. Its exactly how everyone says, you fall asleep and then your awake in an instant.

That was too easy.

My instructions dont say anything about a dry-socket, so where should I look on the internets to find some?

Stewie

You don't need syringes, just rinse with warm salt water. And don't drink through a straw or you can suck the clots out of the cavity.

Why do you think he owns the American Standard Champion series?

He didn't buy it for the women of the household, I'm betting.

My experience was bad... at the time, I was on class A narcotic pain killers for migraines and was generally way too adapted to normal pain killers... and the doc neglected to mention to me that every last one of my wisdom teeth were impacted and they were going to cut them out.

A couple of days later, just trying to tough-out the pain, I called them and they said they were giving me the normal dose of codeine... I told them, yeah, that's not enough. Later, after they doubled it, I was much better.

Been about 2 hours since I got home and my cheeks have swollen pretty good. Still spiting up a lot of blood.

I'll post a picture of the swelling.

You mother****er. You started a thread about losing 50lbs then never posted in it? It's OK. I forgive you. That thread inspired me to go on and lose 100. If I never thanked you for starting that I'll do it now. You'll never really know how much my life changed because of that one simple thread THAT YOU NEVER ****ING RESPONDED TOO!!!!!!!!!

Yeah everyone gave me shit about it, so I said **** it, I dont need no stinkin moral support. I lost about 75 pounds, but I've been slacking and gained back 25 of those. I'm moving gyms, Im moving to the one thats right by my house again. I switched it up to 24 hr fitness, which is like 2.5 miles away, but decided that the one less than a quarter mile away was better for me.

As a Chargers fan, I question whether you should remove anything related to wisdom. It appears that you're already running a deficit.
