:banghead::banghead::banghead:

All Central Iowa Chiefs fans, please start calling KCCI Ch.8 programming. Here's the number: 515-247-8830.

1-800-DIRECTVThis is true.

While I now have cable, and won't miss any Chiefs games...Direct TV is light-years ahead of any local cable company. They had a special going on for 6 months you could get something like 140 channels and most of those in HD for $25 and a movie channel package of your choice.

I pay $45 a month here for local cable with about 65 channels, and 30 broadcasting in 480i HD. It sucks.

I thought you hated them?

Yeah, but they're the only game in town if you want to watch your football team instead of the one the CBS assclowns think you should watch.

All my problems with them have been resolved for a couple of years now. They did not handle the infancy stages of HD very well, but now that it's the norm and not the exception, they seem to have it together now. I'll never forget the bullshit I went through, but it's over now.

Either that or get a No. 4 Jets jersey. :banghead:

That occurred to me after I posted. I'm paying about $300 for the right to watch a games that I'll probably end up turning off in disgust by halftime every week.

Same situation here too. OKC is about 350 miles from KC, but won't consider KC a local team. KC is the second closest NFL team, and in the other division, but nope, we're not getting any coverage. I know a lot of KC fans, but you can't hardly buy KC merchandise and apparal in OKC. (At least I haven't found a decent selection yet).

I'm not paying for Sunday Ticket for the Chiefs as long as they are losing more than winning. But I do figure that if they happen to slip up on the Pats and pull out a W, NFL Network will show the replay sometime next week.

I have, but haven't paid much attension since we were getting the Chiefs on reasonably every Sunday. How does it work and how much does it cost?

Dish doesn't have Sunday Ticket. Dump Dish and get DTV.

Maybe I'm remembering the many times Sunday Ticket has been mentioned here.

It's funny how just adding Favre makes a game between two teams that drafted in the top 6 the #1 game on CBS. ROFL It will probably be a complete snoozer.

Yep, hiring Herm killed the ratings here in OKC...

Fortunatly, I will be on a trip this weekend to west palm beach. Most likely in the air for the game, so I will have to DVR it this weekend....

That's cool for you, in Fresno we've got the Jet's v Phins game too. Yuck! It must be the national game. But why would SD not get Jets and Phins? hmmm....

I'm not doing the NFL Ticket this year. I loved it when I had it, but I have a lot less time this year, and I'm in no hurry to see us lose. I can wait to see that later on Torrent or something. I'll certainly watch the games, but I'm in no rush.

No. CBS in OKC dropped the Chiefs last year when they dropped below .500 this week they are showing Favre's team going fishing. Fox in OKC almost never shows a Chiefs game. In the 4 years that I've been here, I think they have been on 1-2 times.

I used to try and sent emails and letters to the affiliates in OKC, but they don't seem to care.

I wished I could get a local channel lineup for the Tulsa area instead of OKC on my DTV on Sunday.

The Chiefs are on here in San Diego. Now all my neighbors get to see how bad they are.:doh!:It's fine. If your neighbors are all Chargers fans, then they've probably only followed football for 3-5 years at the most; and can't really judge a team to be good or bad.

They just know they're supposed to put down the wine cooler, pull a kazoo our of their fanny packs and high five like it's 1992 when the guys in the san diego shirts all hug and chest-bump in the goal area.

Central Iowa must be full of Packer fans...

Unfortunately yes. Out of the 4 teams considered regional to here (Bears, Packs, Vikes, and Chiefs) KC is treated like the bastard child by the local media. The Bears and the Packs always get the favorite son treatment even though they are farther from Central Iowa than both KC and Minneapolis. Must be to appease the old coots who fell in love with them before KC and Minnesota fielded teams. :shake: Having said that, f@#king Favre is NOT a Pack anymore.:cuss:

I just talked to KCCI.

Paraphrasing:

"We just thought with Brett Favre's recent publicity there would be more interest in him by our viewers." :shake:

I reminded them that Favre is no longer a Packer. They said they know, but they still think that way. :banghead:

But rejoice!... they said next weeks game against the Raiders will be shown.

Looks like I have to invite my wife to lunch on Sunday in a restaurant with TV screens showing the game. If there is such an establishment here, that is.

by halftime i will be wishing I got the jets/dolphins game.

it is a pretty compelling game... favre's first game in NY, the jets need that win since they have the Pats and the Chargers in the next two weeks, pennington comes back to NY... better storylines than the Pats running it up on the Chiefs
