Espn just said that the Chiefs may use both Huard and Thigpen.

tell me that this entire thing is just a bunch of crap based on Herm saying that "thigpen will get his chance"

Thigpen on 1st and 2nd running downs.

Air Huard on 3rd downs.

Sounds good to me. :)

Brilliant thinking. QBBC is the only way to keep at least one quarterback healthy at a time. This is pure genius on Herm's part. The guy is amazing sometimes. Of course, eventually we're going to run out of roster spots, but that's okay ... the players are going to have to play.

Huard pitch back to Thigpen for the long throws.

Hope he pitches harder than he throws.

Could take a loooooong time for the play to develop otherwise.

HERM: "Alright, let's focus now. We're down by 13 and we need a score. Let's go."

THIGGY: "Uh ... is he screaming for his momma?"

I'm kind of wondering why the Chiefs bothered putting Thigpen as the #2 qb on the depth chart. I'm kind of at a loss for words when the Chiefs are thinking the QB as another position like DT or CB where you can basically just sub in any other player.

It's been lame as all hell when the Cardinals put Matt Lienart and Kurt Warner for "certain" situations. ****ing pick your QB and play ball!

I can't think of an NFL team doing this, but I wouldn't have any issues with Thigpen getting thrown in for a series of bootlegs every 3rd or 4th time we have the ball as kind of a change-of-pace.

I can't imagine them ever doing that, though. It's way too unconventional.

I have, as most have, watched it in the college ranks. I watched it here at Florida with Spurrier, although it was never very highly successful, probably since Spurrier was a QB's worst nightmare. However, I liked it in here since it gave Spurrier a chance to talk to each QB a bit more in depth about each play and what to do. And Spurrier was hard on QBs, but he could coach em up pretty good in college.

So, does this mean Curly Dick will be in the ear of the quarterback between and during each off-play? Because that may well spell doom for our QBs.

If I had more faith in our QB coach, like it was Gruden or someone, I would like this a bit more.

Otherwise... just a gimmick.

At least its not Huard the whole game. Unless of coarse Huard is putting up TDs against a pathetic team like the Raiders and then Thigpen comes in and skrews up for pic six:doh!: Honestly I am more exited about Thigpen playing than Huard so the sooner he plays the better.

Damnet Croyle when you come back you better prove you can stay on the field and start producing or you will be put in Herms tollerance box.

Herm wants to guarantee the #1 overall pick for next year playing Thigpen....and then he'll trade the #1 for a low 1st and a 4th rounder

FAX
09-10-2008, 03:43 PM
By now, I think that Downfield only has a few more sacks left in him. My guess is that two or three more solid hits and he'll repeat last year's performance on the sideline. At that point, the new future of the Kansas City Chiefs will emerge ... Thiggy or Ingle ... one of these guys will be leading us when we break our 10 game losing streak. Then you'll have a real quarterback controversy on your hands. What joy.
