... what can be done differently to improve? Obviously, play-calling but what else?

1) Is there any reason to hope that things will be different when Croyle returns? Even detractors would have to admit Croyle is better than Thigpen and Hagans.

2) Any chance Morgan gets more time and provides some kind of spark?

3) Get McIntosh off the field and take our lumps with Richardson?

Any realistic suggestions to improve or do we just hope to beat the Dolphins on our way to 1-15?

Trying to recreate "Slash" with Hagans needs to end IMO. I would really love to see Richardson on the field and Franklin when he gets back. Croyle is better than the crap we saw on the field today, but the offense is not going to be pretty at all this year.

Only thing I can think of is handing out papersacks for fans...

1 - No not really. Talent improvement? Yes. But he'll be injured within two games of starting.

2 - Not that I see. Pollard & Page I think are doing their jobs. Sure would of liked to have whoever the best O-linemen or WR or QB was at that time instead of a backup Safety.

3 - Sure let's do it.

Realistic suggestions IMO?

- Put Richardson &/or Taylor at RT. See who can play.
- Start Franklin at the 2nd WR spot.
- Start Kolby Smith splitting carries with Charles. LJ still gets a few carries but he's washed up... But he sure was good behind one of the great O-lines . We'll always remember that.
- Bring in some QBs to take a look. Start the search.

Offseason

- Either draft the best possible QB or try to trade for Brady Quinn.
- Fire CP ASAP
- Fire Herm. Tired of his conservative 10 pts a game if we're lucky offenses. He has to take the blame for the Croyle disaster.

Ah, I forgot about Franklin. I am very interested in seeing him.

Page and Pollard are doing their jobs but I keep seeing McGraw on the field (50 yard bomb to Moss, anyone?) which is disturbing.

Page has shown repeatedly that his tackling is not good enough for a starting FS.

Don't rip me. I really wanted to believe that he is the answer, but I just can't feel comfortable knowing that he's back there.

We can start by drafting a qb and hiring a new coaching staff.

Oh, sorry I wasn't specific. I meant for the next 14 games.

Offseason moves are pretty obvious, I should think. GM, coaching staff, QB, DE (or two), OT, LB (or three), WR

I think today showed that Croyle is our best quarterback on the roster by far.

Even if that's true, it doesn't matter.

McIntosh being replaced as the starter is first. I don't see a cure for our LBs until the season ends. Seriously, we should run the hurry up to start games.

Trade Larry Johnson now.
Get rid of Herm and hire an interim coach.
And then for the rest of the season, give our youngsters some sound playing experience and hope they remain healthy through it all.

And then, as soon as the last second of the last game signals the end of the season- go out and get the best and the brightest of head coaches out there and let that fugger hand-pick his staff and hopefully score well on another draft.

It just occurred to me that we should stop rolling the QB out to the right until we find a decent RT. Moving the pocket is a good idea but moving it into the end who is speeding past McIntosh is a disaster. Screens to the right would be worth looking into.

1. No doubt Croyle is better the problem is he breaks too easy. QB has become the biggest position of need.

2. Morgan is not an answer this year if preseason was any indication.

3. Why not start Taylor at RT and move McIntoast to backup LT? Taylor has proved he can get the job done. Also, put Smith in at RG there is no reason to continue with the Jones experiment.

I didn't "see" the Raider game, Mr. el borracho. I could only listen via the miracle of interweb radio. I mention this because I'm unclear as to what base defense the fade were running. I know that they, at least on occasion, use a kind of hybrid 3/4. Were they in the 3/4 on Sunday? Or no?

You roll to the right 'cause your QB is right-handed. It's a whole lot easier for them to roll to their right and throw right-handed on the run. For a right-handed thrower to roll to his left, he'd have to almost turn his whole body around to get enough juice on the ball.

When a right-handed QB rolls to his left, it's usually to dump it off to a RB for a screen-play, it's not something a right-handed QB would make a downfield throw on, so you actually limit the playing field by rolling to the left.

Open up the offense.
Mix up the run playcalling.
Blitz the QB.
Take McIntosh off of the field.
