Seems to be newsworthy on ESPN.

Couldn't find the full youtube video that's shown in this article in order to post it.

"The Star-Spangled Banner's going on right now and I don't even celebrate that s--t. I'm black, goddamnit."

I think he was just trying to be a smartass. I don't know his history, though. I assume it must not be a first for him if ESPN is even taking the time to report it.

we've been through this with muslim players, jehovah witnesses, and this guy just seems to be a dumbass. I don't know if it is worth calling out the "GOO AMERICAN WE RULE/ balls on trucks..." type of people. It's not basketball season and this story isn't that sexy.

In the last year, he's been quoted saying he likes to smoke dope in the offseason and accused of drag racing (over 90 mph--and not on the interstate, either).

That being said, he probably was trying to be funny. If he ever wants another endorsement, I'd suggest the following: STFU

Failing to see the connection between not showing the respect to our country's song and being black.

I don't see why I should show respect for a country's song.

They were actually interviewing people about it earlier, and there's even a poll on ESPN.com asking people what they think should be done about it.
