 some pretty cool pics. Guess I need to watch the news more often. I didn't think it was this bad. Check it.

Those pictures went around in chain emails somewhere around Monday.

Any Category 2 or higher hurricane is going to tear up where every they come ashore.

Wow. Some amazing photos there.

I was reading today about the picture from Gilchrist where all the houses are flattened except the one that appears untouched. Apparently, their home had been destroyed by Hurricane Rita and they had it rebuilt to be able to withstand a category 5 hurricane. But looking at that picture, I have to wonder why they bothered. Looks like it will be a long time before they'll be moving back in.

That's pretty wild stuff.

I'd love to stay in 10+ floor building with a good view and reinforced windows to get a birds eye view of one of them someday. Gotta be a once in a lifetime experience.

Wow. I have never been through any natural disaster, and I pray I never, ever have to know what it is like.

a fire destroys homes along the beach as Hurricane Ike approaches

good thing that hurricane was coming, or those houses could have been in real trouble

Sunday my girlfriend and I waded out of our apartment in waist high water. I've been living out of a u-haul since then. I knew I should have gotten renter's insurance.....

How sad. My heart goes out to all who have lost loved ones ... My heart aches for all these poor animals left stranded.

Freakin' alligator looking for a meal - Ugh!

The pic with just the one house remaining is incredible, I had no idea it was such a terrible hurricane.
