...but were people actually expecting more than this? I'm not trying to defend anyone in the organization, I'm just saying, I completely expected this. My expectations were:

1. Going to look real bad to begin the season
2. Hopefully begin to show improvement in the young players
3. Another year with a top 5 draft position

This would be followed by a mediocre season next year, with a mid level draft position, supplemented with a few free agency moves, then a playoff season.

No doubt, some of the play calling has been atrocious. But, we have to keep in ind, we're playing our third string QB in his first NFL start, on the road.

I don't know if I'm just not as upset because I no longer live in KC, or because my expectation were very different from the very angry posts I've been seeing. I mean, were people really expecting us to be competitive, let alone win this season? I was always under the impression this was the great draft class where we throw them into the fire so they are battle tested and savy a couple years down the line. What were your realistic expectations for the year?

Throw aside the last 3 games and look at last year and the playoff loss in Indy.

McBride in his 2nd year
Tlyer in his 2nd year
Dorsey in his 1st year
Hali in his 3rd year

That's hardly "as young as the Packers".

Woodson in his 11th season
Harris in his 11th season
Bigby in his 3rd season
Collins in his 4th season

Chiefs backfield:

Carr in his 1st year
Flowers in his 1st year
Pollard in his 3rd year
Page in his 3rd year

Again, not a good comparison

Somewhat comparable except that everyone but Waters is playing a new position and our LT is a rookie.

I just don't see the Packer analogy holding up. We should be as good as the Packers in 2-3 years, not now. Provided, of course, we develop a QB.
