Seriously though, I admit it, I have given up on Croyle. I don't think he can stay healthy enough to be an NFL starter.

Tamba Hali = He could be solid. Need Superstar players around him. Too much is being asked of him

Bernard Pollard = Jury still out.
Brodie Croyle = Its over for him
Jeff Webb = He has no future
Jarrad Page = Jury still out
Dwayne Bowe = Could be a superstar on a solid team. 3 TD's in 3 weeks
Turk McBride = backup player
Tank Tyler = backup player
Kolby Smith = backup player
Herb Taylor = backup player

I voted against the entire '06 Draft class. That class is Vermeil-level bad.

pollard and page as safeties. both are special teams players and nothing more.

Webb, Croyle, Hali

YOU SUCK

I dont think Hali deserves to be thrown in with Webb and Croyle he can be a great backup or a solidstarter.

Hali is a #2 DE guy, not the man rush end type. With Allen, he was a good combo. With Turk McBride not so much.
Pollard - stud special teams guy, work in progress as a safety
Croyle - fringe starter/outstanding backup something every team needs (potential is still there though but too many health concerns)
Webb - cut his ass
Page - for a 7th round pick, he really isnt that bad. 2/3 safety type not a top flight starter but a guy you need on a championship team

This is Pollard's third year in the same system. You don't still get to claim "work in progress" status if ****ing quarterbacks are lights out in year three and a guy who has to memorize "do I stay deep or do I come up?" still can't figure it out, or the impossibly Euclidean geometry of angles.

First round draft picks need to be in the top 10 of their position. Period.

I would exactly say that is true. Too many first rounds picks plus limited positions.

I think it's time to to bed the myth that Herm Edwards is a good evaluator of talent.

This is a damning quote (from another thread):

“He’s an awful evaluator,” said one veteran pro evaluator with firsthand knowledge of Edwards’ personnel acumen. “First of all, he can’t stay awake long enough to watch the film. He’s one of those guys that can watch 15 snaps and then go off for a half hour about what the guy could or could not do for him in his system.”

Yep. And if he can't evaulate talent - he isn't worth $HIT. I have to laugh at the quote though because it mentions "His System." LOL!

Hali - as a good starter, yes - can be an okay LDE or solid third end

Pollard - as a starter, yes

Croyle - yes

Webb - yes

Page - as a starter, yes - as a nickel safety type, no

McBride - not yet; could be an okay LDE

Tyler - no, he's always had the talent; one of the few picks I actually liked at the time of the pick

Smith - hell no, he needs the ball more

Taylor - no, staff just too scared to play him over McCuntintosh
