With USC, Florida, and Now Georgia getting stomped....

Will this be the polls?

#1 Oklahoma
#2 Mizzou!

Depending on which poll you look at, Mizzou and LSU are 5 or 6... so, for the AP this week, I'm thinking...

#1 OU
#2 LSU
#3 Mizzou (probably within 10 points of LSU)
#4 Alabama (but only because they're #8... should probably be #1 or #2)
#5 Texas (who knows if they're this good though)

I think that's pretty fair. LSU deserves to be ahead of us after that win over Auburn last week. I can't believe Alabama. They are just smoking everyone.

Next week, LSU is @ a pissed off Florida, OU is playing Baylor, and Mizzou is playing Nebraska...... decent chance that after next week OU and Mizzou will be 1 and 2.

Next week is huge for Mizzou. If we go up there and win that game, then I think the sky is the limit. But being a Mizzou fan, I'm expecting the worse. Even if we would lose, we could still conceivably win out and take the north. But it would really suck being in a sense 2 games down on Nebraska after the first conference game.

I thought about flying down to see the game, but I think I'll wait a couple of years, because I don't think Mizzou will have much of a problem. That said, it is a big game, and obviously no game can be taken lightly... I just don't think Nebraska will be able to keep up. They aren't quite there yet, but it'll be fun if they can become a powerhouse again, and Mizzou & Kansas can keep winning.

Mizzou should win... but man... it's still Nebraska... on the road. I'm a touch nervous.

They were a little sloppy against Buffalo, and have two weeks to prepare... so that should help. No excuses for losing this one.

Wish it'd hurry up and get here, though. Bye weeks suck.

It wouldn't surprise me if Alabama passed us in the polls this week - considering how they punked Georgia, I'd say they earned it. Of course, Georgia was extremely overrated, but what the hell.

One of the ESPN talking heads ranked Texas ahead of us in his Top 5 - that's fine, too, since we play them soon. All the better if we take them down.

My Top 5:

1. Gooners
2. Alabama
3. Missouri
4. LSU
5. Texas

You know this is a pretty interesting post that reminds me of a conversation I had with a buddy of mine who is a huge Mizzou fan.

He says thinking like the post above is something Chase Daniel does NOT have and that kind of attitude has done a lot for this team.

All the guy knows how to do is win.

He didn't grow up with that Charlie Brown "the football is going to get taken from right under our feet" mentality...that anyone watching this team growing up has. This isn't a knock on the fans it is just a product of what Missouri has gone through as a program with ups and downs and strange ass kicked balls and 5th downs. He grew up winning big class state titles in Texas and watching the Longhorns.

That lingering voice in the back of the head of Mizzou fans from all these years is silent in his head. And I think that has spread to other players.

Kind of interesting.
