Howdy Planeteers!! This is FAX.

In light of the looming elections for ChiefsPlanet President, I have decided to form a coalition of the willing (or at the very minimum, a glom of the somewhat dull-witted and complacent). If successful, this group of thoughtful, intelligent, and sexually active Planeteers will represent a key voting block which may well sway the upcoming election.

The goal of the FAX Faction is to ensure that certain requirements for ChiefsPlanet President are met and, as you well know, there is power in numbers. Therefore, I humbly suggest the following:

1. If you are interested in combining the power of your vote with other like-minded Planeteers in order that the next ChiefsPlanet President is not a tool or something, the FAX Faction is for you.

2. You can join this powerful alliance merely by stating your intention to do so on this here thread thing.

3. We will elect a chairposter and vice-chairposter to serve as our public representatives during the primaries and general election. These powerful peeps will also be responsible for mashing the nutsack of the elected ChiefsPlanet President with a pair of shrubbery sissors should they not follow through on any promises made to us.

4. The FAX Faction membership will vote on policies and positions which the various nominees must meet in order to expect our votes. This will be accomplished via a poll thing or something. Whatever.

5. The FAX Faction will accept bribes. All candidates will be encouraged to give us tons of casino cash from their election funds. These monies will go to the chairposter who will distribute the treasury equally among our membership at the conclusion of the election.

Since it's clear that individual votes are practically meaningless in today's political environment, it seems to me that organizations like the FAX Faction are necessary in order that our elected officials are attentive and responsible to the Planet public. I hope you agree and will become part of this important and powerful alliance of like-minded Planeteers.

Yours Truly,

FAX

Would you like to become a charter member of the FAX Faction, Mr. gblowfish? A high-quality poster and season ticket holder like yourself would be very welcome.

At this point, we only have one member (me) and I don't think that will make for a very effective voting block.

Will you be serving donuts?

One of the main tenets of the FAX Faction is that donuts are served at each and every meeting, Mr. Bugeater. All kinds, too ... jelly, cake, glazed, twisty ...

Plus, we always order more than we can eat so every FAX Factioner can take some home with thim. If there's one thing we stand for, it's donuts.

I, too, have been invited by a campaign to assist in their efforts, Mr. RJ. But, after thinking about it, I realized that real political power isn't in the campaign or the candidate. It's with their elite masters who pull the strings behind the scenes. The FAX Faction is just a bunch of guys and gals who are elite masters.

So, if you want to continue in your efforts to support Mr. CRONUS's campaign, that's certainly up to you and I wish you well. However, if you want to exert true power, enjoy a refreshing donut, and make tons of casino cash by encouraging bribery, payola, and graft, I believe that the FAX Faction represents a better use of your extraordinary talents and skills.

Completely bipartisan, Ms. luv. The unfortunate fact is that there is little meaningful difference between the parties. Sadly, true change occurs only when our elected officials are fully responsive to the desires of the peeps. That's why the FAX Faction will be successful ... by combining the power of our individual ballots into a single voting block of Planeteers with common interests, we can determine the outcome of the election and see to it that whoever is elected follows through on their promises. Plus, if everything goes according to plan, we'll be literally swimming in casino cash.

Oh, we still vote individually, Ms. luv. The advantage of being part of the FAX Faction is that you are part of an organized association of peeps who share common interests (once we decide what those interests actually are). That means that, as a group, we wield more power. Ultimately, that power will manifest itself in specific commitments by the candidates who will want our votes. Plus, if they're smart, they will shovel tons of casino cash our way.

Remember too, that you will have FAX Faction representatives who will fight hard for your beliefs and values throughout the election cycle and who will challenge the candidates to support our policy positions. When peeps join forces, forces follow peeps. On top of that, when the election is over, you will be an elite master.

I would like to point out that Ms. Gump is running as an anti-establishment candidate in the mold of Teddy Roosevelt. Her platform is relatively simple:

1. Sex.
2. Drugs (or alcohol)
3. Rock and roll. (we prefer blues but recognize the prevailing cultural idiom)
4. More Chiefs victories.
5. Music turned up to 11. It's louder than 10.

You raise a most excellent point, Mr. Over-Head. The fact is that any poster who has previously joined a campaign is free to resign and become a member of the FAX Faction. Peeps resign from campaigns all the time.

Besides, what if your guy doesn't win? Where will you be then? The FAX Faction is a voting block that can determine the outcome of this election. All you in FAXs Faction if you join my campaign and we win I will share the entire Rain Man Jackpot. Here you can only hope the graft comes rolling in (fat chance) there all we have to do is beat a worthy adversary like UP.

Actually, we're having a heck of a time recruiting, Mr. CRONUS. Our coalition is, at the moment, kind of small. That's why we need your guys.

Nevertheless, and although I'm certain you will run an excellent campaign and may will emerge victorious, there's a long way to go and the outcome is, as yet, uncertain. Here, at the FAX Faction, peeps have a much better chance of backing the ultimate winner and getting tons more casino cash because we expect that more than one candidate will be willing to back policies which we approve. Plus, they'll be happy to invest in our alliance. It's a win/win for everybody when you think about it.

FAXSorry to hear of your problems Mr FAX. I am sure Miss UP is recruiting like Mad as are we. An effective campaign is an early developing campaign

You realize in the Primaries your Faction could back both UP and the CRONUS/Simply Red ticket. Consider it, please. Then you could collect on the ticket of your choice in the Election!!!

Hi guys. Just thought I'd stop by to let you know that every Sunday morning over at Cronus campaign headquarters we have a little get to know you breakfast get together. Nothing fancy, just flapjacks with gobs and gobs of sweet butter and thick maple syrup, crispy bacon you can smell a mile away, fresh eggs cooked any way you like them, red eye gravy, hot coffee, pitchers of ice cold milk, and of course cowboy biscuits. So stop on by if you have the time, Cronus and Simply Red just want to tell everyone what they're all about. You don't need to bring anything but your appetite.

If successful, this group of thoughtful, intelligent, and sexually active Planeteers will represent a key voting block which may well sway the upcoming election.

4. The FAX Faction membership will vote on policies and positions which the various nominees must meet in order to expect our votes. This will be accomplished via a poll thing or something. Whatever.

With every new member, our coalition becomes a more important, powerful factor in this election. Soon, our sheer numbers will allow us to demand results from the nominees and eventual winner.

I guess this means we have to figure out what we stand for pretty soon.

Mr. Fax I would be honored to be counted as a member of the Fax Faction.

I would like to make a suggestion. The Fax Faction thread is what I would consider to be THE target demographic for any serious candidate wanting to get the best value for their advertising dollar. I think any advertising space should be sold on a week to week basis for...say.....$500 a week. This thread is like half time at the Super Bowl. No other thread on the planet will give a candidate as much exsposure to as many voters as this one. In fact, $500 a week might be too low.

Just my opinion. Glad to be onboard.

WOW, I'm glad you post in big bold font. If my screw up had gone unnoticed I would really feel like an idiot.

That stupid # ,dang it, the #1 key on my keyboard keeps sticking on me. Couple that with an oncoming case of middle aged vision problems I missed my own typo.
I'm sure you realize $500 a week would be a ridiculously low rate for advertising on a thread that will more than likely decide the winner of the race.
Jeez, what am I saying. Being the honorable, fine, upstanding candidate you are I have no doubt you would have pointed out my mistake before anything was finalized.
The rate, of course, should be $1500 a week. Of course that's just my opinion and I am not authorized to act on behalf of The Fax Faction. But I think you, the other candidates, and of course all of the voting members here at The Fax Faction would agree $ 500......dang it. That darn key stuck again. Would agree that $1500 a week is a fair rate.

I guess the only thing to do now is wait for Mr. Fax and see what he thinks.

I really would like to thank you for confirming my belief that there are candidates of the finest integrity out there. If you were one of the same old slimeball, win at any cost, self important candidates you could have just payed that ridiculously low rate while laughing your way to the bank.
Thank you for bringing my dumb ole typo to my attention.

Who knows, Mr. Fax might even waive the $300 application and set-up fee for you. Just because you're so honest.

Sir, I resent that remark. As I stated in my previous post I made an honest mistake. A mistake that anyone of my advanced age and deteriorating health could have made. And for that I apologize.
PLease keep in mind all I was doing was making a suggestion.

I can certainly understand not wanting to pay any more than is necessary. I certainly don't envy you. Having to weigh the value of being elected the President of Everything in the world as opposed to spending an extra couple thousand dollars for some silly ole advertising here or a pancake breakfast there.

Once again, all I was doing was making a suggestion to Mr Fax. I thought I had made that perfectly clear in my previous post. My apologies for any misunderstanding.

All of this business talk aside and on a more personal level I was wondering something. I couldn't help but notice you were very quick to start slinging what some would consider slanderous accusations. Possibly an actionable comment. Is the pressure of this campaign the cause of such a quick and hatefull response to what was clearly an honest mistake ? Or have you always had a hair trigger to mispercieved wrongs ?
You know they say John McCain is like that. WOW, think about it. You and one of our nations heroes thinking along the same lines. Thats pretty cool, you should be proud.
I only ask out of concern. Running a campaign as important as this could certainly stress a person to the extent as to act out of character. And you know how some of these politicians are. Any little insignificant thing they hear about gets all twisted and turned around and used to bathe their opponent in bad light. Oh well, I guess I was more just thinking out loud than really asking a question. Best of luck to you and your campaign.

Sorry, Mr. BigRedChief. And, my sincere apologies to all FAX Factioners. My bad. I've been busy caucusing with some highly important and influential peeps. The job of a FAX Factioner is never done.

Okay, here are my suggestions ...

First, I'll update the membership list so Mr. Skip Towne will know how many super cool members we have.

Second, I'll clear out my PM box.

Third, I'll set up a poll so the membership can decide on whether or not we put the campaign ads in the OP. I think we have to stay with the $500.00, Mr. stumpy, but next time we'll vote on the charges.

Fourth, we need to figure out what we stand for. If you peeps have any suggestions for stuff to stand for, please post your ideas. Then, we can make a poll or something.

Fifth, Jack Daniels black label would be my choice.

Sixth, we need to elect a chairposter and a vice-chairposter.

I think that's about it. Please let me know your thoughts. Oh, one more thing. We need some more members. After reviewing past polls, it looks like about 30 or 40 FAX Factioners is all it will take to turn this election one way or the other. That will make us both rich and elite masters which is almost better than a 40 ouncer in the tank. So, please invite your friends and neighbors and sex slaves and all your other peeps to get involved. Change only happens when an elite master puts the hammer down.

If a planet member gets out of hand and needs disciplined (banned) he should be a liaison to the mods. And the Mods to take him seriously.

Legalize weed.

This is serious...plead to the Mods to let us have one day a week where we can post TAGS.

Organize members to dog pile on a planet member if he/she is an a-hole.
(Midnight-Douche as example)

Post a once a week poll on if a change should be made and give us 24 hours to vote on it.

Thats all for now.

FAX
Seventh, you should change the name to FAXtion, if only UP would quit whining about the "extra work" :harumph:

FAX

I'm pretty sure The Hulk would win because he could grab a Bigfeets by the body hair and swing him around and throw him a couple of miles into the air. If he landed awkwardly, that would probably take some of the fight out of a Bigfeets.

I'm sure Mr. Cronus is talking about my typo when I initially suggested the rate for advertising should be $1500 a week. Which was posted as $500. The #1 key on my keyboard sticking coupled with my failing eye sight resulted in the typo. I thought I had made it perfectly clear that I was in no position to be making an official decision on advert. rates and was merely making a suggestion.

It is a shame Mr. Cronus can or will not take into consideration that sometimes a persons physical limitations can interfere with their ability to smoothly blend in with society.

No el problemo, Mr. stumpyo. Since Mr. CRONUS decided to lower his previously agreed upon offer by 1/2, we decided not to run his ad in our super important thread after all.

Given the fact that the FAX Faction represents a vitally important voting block and coalition of the like-minded, this could very well spell trouble for Mr. CRONUS' campaign, however. It's unfortunate.

Not only do we have talent, Mr. RedNeckRaider, but we are, without question, the determining factor in these elections.

Still, I think we need about 8 or 10 new Factioneers. Based on an in-depth, detailed analysis of past polling data, it appears that a mere 30 votes will swing the elections one way or the other with room to spare. That, of course, makes our coalition members the deciding vote in the upcoming contests.

Unless you have a better idea, I think this may be a job for Mr. Skip Towne. He can rally the N00bs (sp?) using the threat of his powerful neg-rep ability. 8 or 10 N00b (sp?) Factioneers at this point would be helpful.

Then, we need to open an auction for our support. I think the bidding should start at around $10k in hard, cold casino cash. But, I'm open for suggestions.

I'm beginning to see your point, Mr. smittysbar. Apparently, Mr. CRONUS feels that the FAX Faction thread is his own, personal playground. It is painfully obvious that Mr. CRONUS underestimates both our like-mindedness and the quality of our donuts.

Sadly, this does not bode well for Mr. CRONUS in terms of our coalition's support for his campaign. Clearly, the only thing that can assuage this animosity and bring an end to this unfortunate conflict is a pretty sizable chunk of Mr. CRONUS' campaign casino cash.

Meanwhile, I would like to invite Ms. Ultra Peanut and Mr. joey to speak to our group of like-minded peeps in order to explain to us their positions (both political and otherwise). Also, any other candidates who wish to avail themselves of an opportunity to appear before our coalition and hob-nob with some for-real, actual, bona-fide Elite Masters should contact us in that regard.

UP and I are not running against each other in the Primary, we have an offer on the table and hope to consumate a package soon. As to our responses to posts relating to our campaign I know of no campaign rule you have placed against that.

Please Mr FAX we will be happy to match the UP fee for their add.

I hope not Mr Dimension2112, I am merely participating with only links (not the actual position papers) in response to the following paragraph from Mr FAX.

I would now hope after presenting our Bona Fides we will be allowed to hob nob with the elite masters, UP and Joey. I am sure as always Mr. FAX desires to be as fair as possible.

Hmmm. Miscommunication will be the death of our republic.

Here's what I thought happened, Mr. CRONUS ...

1. You offered $500 to insert your ad in our thread (very gently, I might add).

2. You had some kind of dust up with Mr. stumppy, following which you accused us of a "bait and switch" tactic and reduced your offer to $250.

Is that not correct? If not, please feel free to clear this up.

You may have just received a modest donation to your casino cash stockpile that might help assuage the animosity to the CRONUS/Simply Red campaign.

Of course... you may not have. Who am I to say? I know nothing of the sort.

Welcome to the coalition of the like-minded, Mr. Reerun_KC. As for the donation ... nope. The FAX Faction isn't about members spending casino cash. It's about members making casino cash (and tons of it, too) in the finest tradition of democracy. I'm pretty sure that you'll make a darn fine Elite Master and you'll need some extra spending money for that, anyhow.

Thank you for clearing that up, Mr. CRONUS. I'm sure that all the FAX Factioneers are glad to know that this matter is nearing resolution.

As for PMing you the rate charged to Ms. Ultra Peanut's campaign, in the finest tradition of American politics, we at the FAX Faction are blatant, money-grubbing sleazebags. That is, of course, the means whereby true Elite Masters are made. Therefore, there is no need for secrecy. We charged Ms. Ultra Peanut's campaign $500 in cold, hard casino cash which is a pretty darn good deal.

Please be assured that we look forward to receiving tons of casino cash from you both now and in the future and that some of the money will be used to purchase some new, fashionable eyewear for Mr. stumpy.

Wow. Welcome also to Mr. DeezNutz and Mr. bringbackmarty. Two Elite Masters if I ever saw one. Or two.

We're getting close to shutting down our membership drive. Remember, as a voting block we share all the cold, hard casino cash equally. Therefore, it's important that we limit membership to a number that is certain to swing the election, but not so many as to dilute our hard-earned casino cash.

Also, I guess we need to figure out what we stand for at some point.

No, no, no. We don't spend casino cash, Mr. scott free. We receive casino cash. It's the American way. Our voting block has the power to sway this election one way or the other.

Therefore, the campaign that gives us the most cold, hard casino cash will most certainly be the winner. Just as our founding fathers planned it.

I forgot to update that part, Mr. DeezNutz. My bad. I'm kinda new at this, to be honest. I've been trying my best to bait in more Elite Masters and I guess I'm just a pretty lousy Elite Master baiter.

Here's the deal ... a careful and thorough analysis of past ChiefsPlanet polls has been conducted by select representatives of the FAX Faction. Based on this extensive research, we have concluded that a block of 30 to 40 votes can easily swing most polls one way or the other with room to spare.

This means that the FAX Faction will, no doubt, be the determining factor in the upcoming elections. I guess we'll shut down the membership drive at this point, because we have enough fantastic Factioneers to establish our coalition as a critical constiuency. To that end, thank you for bringing this oversight to my attention. You are a true Elite Master.
