I just discovered this dude. I'm not much of a hip hop/rap guy but I like all music and kind of go through phases. Right now it's Jay Z - Roc Boys. Old school Biggie, not really into the hardcore gangsta rap much. I think Hey Ya! by Outkast may be the best hip hop song I've ever heard. What have I missed out on in the last decade? It's not like I've never heard of him, or his music. But it has been almost a decade since I've gone through any kind of hip hop phase in my music listening. My understanding of hip hop and rap is that some of the best stuff never makes the radio. If it hasn't been on the radio, I haven't heard it. I'm looking for some gems here that I otherwise probably have never heard.

There are some good white rappers out there getting some love...atmosphere although you will never hear them on pop stations.

Did anybody like a single song from his Kingdom Come CD? I listened to that on the way home from Columbia one day and threw it away as soon as it was over. Really depressed me because I used to love Jay-Z growing up. I heard his American Gangster CD was a lot better but after Kingdom Come I really don't have any interest in hearing it.
