IMHO history proves that players are more important than coaches. Levy. Belicheat, Cowher, Holmgren, Gibbs, Jimmy Johnson, Marty, Gruden, Fisher and Switzer prove my point.
Levy was POS with us but with the Bills he wasn't. Better players
Belicheat was dog crap with the Browns but not with NE. Better players
Cowher took had some good teams and bad ones in Pitt. When he got the right players he won it all.
Holmgren was great in GB but had many horrible years in Seattle. Got to the SB when he got the right players.
Gibbs was brilliant in 80's but not so great when he returned. Disn't have the players
The rest are all this type of story except for Switzer. He was a pathedic HC but won the SB because he inherited a SB team. Coaching had shit to do with it.
This not a Herm defense, he clearly making errors but in reality our players are not that good yet and may never be good enough.
