KANSAS CITY, Kansas- Former Prairie View A&M University football player Jermaine McGee has been signed to the Kansas City Chiefs practice squad. McGee was standout member of the PVAMU football team in 2005 and 2006.
The 6-3, 240 pound defensive end caused havoc in opposing teams’ backfields while playing on the Panthers football team. McGee is now set to take his play making ability to the next level as a member of the K.C. Chiefs. At the collegiate level Mcgee was a first-team All-Southwestern Athletic Conference selection as a senior in 2006 as he tallied 67 tackles (32 solo), 8.0 sacks and blocked a pass attempt.
“Jermaine worked extremely hard while he was at Prairie View A&M,” said Panthers head coach Henry Frazier. “He initially started out playing safety on our team but he dedicated himself in the weight room and eventually became one of our top pass rushers on our defensive line.”

McGee follows a distinguished list of former SWAC football players to make it to the National Football League.
“Jermaine is a high motor player,” said Frazier. “He finished with his degree and he continued to work extremely hard to make it to the next level. We are extremely excited for him and we wish him well with his future endeavors.”
