Got all of his relevant records as a Chief - i'll take whatever we can get to clear up some cap room and let him play for a team that isn't awful.

The Bills? Come on Tony. I'd keep him if he wanted to go to the Bills. I hope we get something worked out with the Giants so Tony can get his Lombardi. I love the guy, I wanna see him win one. The Bills won't offer that chance.

Well, the Bills may make the playoff's, so that is a contender to TG.

Don't get me wrong, I like what the Bills are building but this wasn't the last piece they were looking for to bring them into the top tier. It made a hell of a lot more sense for the Giants to get something like this done than it did for the Bills.

yeah, adding a receiving threat to their offense where they have a void right now, a hall of famer who is still one of the better players at his position in the league, someone who creates matchup problems, that's just window dressing.

It would mean the same thing for the friggin' Giants then...Kevin Boss = Robert Royal...

Royal is actually a pretty decent TE.

Incorporating Gonzalez into their run heavy offense isn't as easy as it sounds...at this point, for teams interested in acquiring Gonzalez, he's a luxury item, not a necessity.

Buffalo sounds better than KC...I think Gonzalez is just ready to GTFO...Buffalo, Arizona, friggin' anywhere but KC.

Yuck.

I think the Bills are a decent team, but I don't think they will win more than 10 games.

They are going to lose 3 games they shouldn't lose, I guarantee you that, that's the kind of team they have been this year so far, except the bounces have pretty much all gone their way.

Right now, I don't know who I'd put as the favorite in that division...I could see Miami, New York, New England and Buffalo all winning that division...and I say the winner has no more than 11 wins. Right now I peg that division winner to have 10 wins.

All I have to say is...Trent Edwards is injury prone, J.P. isn't very good, so you'd almost have to give Brett Favre and the Jets the nod as of right now.

Some of you guys have some knowledge but there are a few that really don't know what they are talking about (black ice).

The Bills are not a contender? Really? Last I checked they were 4-1 and only lost to a team that beat a Dallas team that the Media has as the NFC favorite.

Last I checked they had a QB that everybody is saying is the next big thing.

Last I checked Marshawn Lynch is a beast.

Last I checked Lee Evans is one of the fastest and sure handed receivers in the league.

Last I checked their defense is pretty good

Last I checked their special teams is amazing.

Last I checked they were 4-1 while the chiefs are 1-4.

Some of you are saying that a tight end isn't the final piece of the puzzle... well, if it's not its close to it. for those that don't know, Trent Edwards is a very smart QB who can throw it deep but knows when he has to check down, he knows how to use a tight end and the Bills offense would benefit greatly with a good pass catching tight end.

If you don't think the Bills are contenders, then you don't know much about the NFL.... end of story.

hey guys. Diehard bills fan here just coming in to check what you guys are hearing in KC.
I frequent the Bills board and I just want to tell you nothing there is set in stone or true. just rumors buzzing... like here.
I'm not someone to rub in a bad season or loss or win.... i've experienced the worst of the bills.
I just would like to say a few things you guys might not know considering you dont watch us but hear media... like we do to the Chiefs:
The bills are better than you guys think. Trent has looked good as has our team.
Trent is not injury prone. he has had injuries but with a terrible stanford. He has taken SHOTS and this one by Adrian Wilson (fined for 25k) gave him a concussion. sightings of him have stated he's playing next week.
Royal is not a good TE... receiving TE no less.

Our boards are goign nuts... probably 99% want him, 80% want him for a second... but nearly everyone for a third and fifth.

In closing, the Chiefs are in rebuilding mode. They want to remove older cap excess and start young. The Bills did that a couple years back and it's no surprise if they did not find Edwards, they'd still be rebuilding.
You'll find a QB and your team will thrive soon. Good luck in your division!

Bills are a contender. In the AFC east this year, they'll probably win the division.

They've fielded a lot of mediocre teams in recent years but who else is there in the AFC that's supposed to be better? They could definitely end up hosting a playoff game at least.

You clearly know nothing about our management. :(

I don't think it's the Giants... who wants to ruin chemistry? the Giants fans like Boss ( i live in lower NY) and the EAgles just scored 40 pts... their strife is in their secondary (DB's) why try to get MORE pts when you want to give up LESS?

The Bills defense is stout.. We would like a little more pass rush but i think that's in schemes.
the Bills problems, if you may or may not know is in these categories:
Oline- i think it's our schemes that aren't giving holes. we have heavy guys and we can't run the ball. we play zone schemes on the line.
TE - royal doesn't cut it. we just got Derek Fine in the draft and he got injured so we don't know how he's going to be yet.
WR - we just got Hardy in the draft... waiting on him.
SLB - we wont resign Angelo Crowell after him opping for surgery 2 days before game-opener... we need one.

It makes sense to have Gonzalez getting 80 rec's for the next 3 years while Fine learns under him... just my two cents.

My big problem is going to be veteran leadership. You always need some experienced players on a roster.

OK, your talking about the AFCE and that's something I know a lot about being a Pats fan.

First, the Dolphins did NOT make equal strides with the Bills. The Bills have been building this team over the last couple of seasons... the Phins just started building this year and have to rely on gimmick plays to win games... they lost today against the winless Texans.

They went 7-9 last season which isn't good... but they did it with 17 guys on injured reserve, and one of them getting paralyzed before making a full recovery. Half of their defense was second and third stringers, and the Pats took FULL advantage of that.

The Jets are not that good of a team either... I say for the next couple of years the Bills and Pats will be battling for the number 1 spot in the east... and if Kraft doesn't do something about this defense they might take the east even when brady is healthy, gulp.

You, my friend, have no idea what your talking about. The Bills will make the playoffs this year and, any team that makes the playoffs has a shot at making the superbowl... last year the Giants snuck into the playoffs and won the SB... I know, I cried about it for hours. Tom Brady's first superbowl, nobody had the Pats going, but we did, and we won.

The Bills didn't just come out of nowhere, they have been building for a few years now, and with their guys healthy and off the IR they have a chance at going deep into the post season.

Losman has been injured once. He has played behind probably the worst offensive lines in the NFL before the Bills put 60 or 70 million into the oline. He was taking beatings game after game and getting back up. Trent wouldn't have lasted behind those lines.

their luck ran out today against the texans.

The wildcat offense isn't going to work every week. They are grasping at straws and well, it won't last long.

I'm thinking they have enough good people in place to overcome that. They have the talent (ugh, Pennington) It's almost the anti-Chiefs approach (no talent/no coaching). I'm willing to go out on a limb.

where else do they have talent? O line? no. WR? no. Dline? no DB's? no.

all they have right now is ronnie brown and sticky icky ricky.

Vermeil's tears have healing powers, like Phoenix tears. We can use them sparingly for Brodie's injuries.

I call shenanigans. The ground all around Arrowhead is soaked with Vermeil's tears. If they could heal, half of Kansas City's population would be immortal by now.

The Bills didn't just come out of nowhere, they have been building for a few years now, and with their guys healthy and off the IR they have a chance at going deep into the post season.
wow... a patriots fan i like. Thank you. I don't need to give your team credit because.. you're the patriots.

Hello, I'm from Rochester, NY which is about an hour east of Buffalo. As a long time Bills fan I came across this site today to see what you people thought of TG possibly going to Buffalo. And I find it funny at the different takes/thoughts on my team from another city. The Bills are a contender this year. The AFC has never been more wide open. TG is exactly the type of player the Bills are missing. We have a great young QB in Trent Edwards, a great RB in Marshawn Lynch and host of other great talent on the offensive side of the ball. Lee Evans, Roscoe Parrish, James Hardy, Fred Jackson, yes Fred Jackson. The Bills are currently 1 game up on the Pats/Jets and 2 games up on Miami. The Bills are a team Tony can help not only this year, but next year as well. The Bills are a team on the rise and we desperatley need TG in our offense.

Thanks for listening, and Go Bills!

And the Chiefs pick ........? with the first pick of the NFL draft. To be honest, we can't get much worse this year, so I wouldn't be all the broken up about it. I would feel better about the trade (if it happens) if we had a group of people that could evaluate talent. Sunday Morning Cup O’Chiefs
October 12, 2008 - Bob Gretz |

Are we in the final days of Tony Gonzalez’s time with the Chiefs?

It’s sure building to that conclusion. Attempts by the Chiefs to keep things under wraps have failed, as those types of attempts always do in these days of the 24-your news cycle. That Gonzalez is available and that they are talking to NFL teams is now very public information. You can bet there will be a new angle contributed on the Fox-TV pre-game show with their information man Jay Glazer. He’s good friends with Gonzalez and over the last few years the Chiefs have fed Glazer a number of scoops.

There is no question now that the Chiefs have been in contact with several teams about their unhappy tight end. Buffalo, Tampa Bay, Green Bay, Philadelphia and the New York Giants have been mentioned prominently. I’m told there’s at least one other team that’s in the mix. With the exception of the Bills, all of the teams involved are in the NFC. And, only one of the teams is on the Chiefs schedule over the final 11 games: Tampa Bay visits Arrowhead on November 2. Wouldn’t that make for an interesting afternoon!

Some media outlets are reporting that Gonzalez went to Carl Peterson and requested a trade last week in the days after the loss to Carolina.

The reality is that Gonzalez went to both Peterson and head coach Herm Edwards pleading for a trade after the team lost in Atlanta on September 21. He had subsequent meetings with Peterson in the last two weeks, again requesting a ticket out of the rebuilding of the Chiefs.

That this has gone public will not help the Chiefs in negotiating a trade. It will however, make it far easier for the team to pull the trigger.

Stay tuned … the next few days in the Chiefs Nation should be interesting.
