Kansas City Agrees to Terms with LB Rocky Boiman

boimanKansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Wednesday that the club has agreed to terms of a one-year contract with LB Rocky Boiman. Boiman is reunited in Kansas City with defensive coordinator Gunther Cunningham who served as his position coach in Tennessee. No other terms of the agreement were made available.
Boiman (6-4, 242) has played in 86 games (19 starts) with Tennessee (2002-05) and Indianapolis (2006-07). He has produced 194 tackles (76 solo), 1.5 sacks (-7.5 yards), five interceptions with a TD, four passes defensed, one forced fumble and a fumble recovery in addition to 91 special teams tackles. He has also played in nine postseason games with one start, recording two tackles and 10 special teams tackles.
The Cincinnati, Ohio native originally entered the NFL as a fourth-round draft pick (133rd overall) of Tennessee in 2002. Boiman saw action in 54 contests (11 starts) with the Titans, registering 113 tackles (66 solo), 1.5 sacks (-7.5 yards), two INTs with a TD, three passes defensed and 59 special teams tackles. He attended training camp with Philadelphia this year, but was released prior to the season.
Boiman appeared in 43 games (21 starts) at Notre Dame, totaling 144 tackles, 8.5 sacks, five fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and one pass defensed. He was a prep standout at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, Ohio where he earned all-state honors as a senior.
