OK. Crazy situation for an unpredictable game. If you were head coach, and Jamaal Charles ran up 100+ yards against the tacks with LJ out...

What would you do for the following game?

Herm after the game: well, uh, were gonna see where everybodys at. Were still evaluating guys..and thats good. Jamaal had a good game. But everythings still open.

(herms way of beating around the bush)

LJ does not suck. Our line does. It is that simple. Now if Charles pulls some Barry Sanders shit with no blocking from the line then I will change my position.

I will get laid before we run for 100 yards against a good run defense.

Same shit happened last year.

LJ could not run for shit and gets hurt.

Priest comes in and manages to gain yards but then gets hurt.

Kolby comes in and rips off 150+ behind the EXACT SAME LINE.

----

LJ and his sandy vaginal folds need to go far far away from KC.

That said... I would not be in the least bit surprised to see Charles or Kolby rip off for 100+.

Better go stock up on rubbers and stamina because all it takes is busting one big run.

Priest averaged 3.0 YPC. Smith averaged 3.6.

End of discussion.

I guarantee you he will even if it takes 38 carries. He will.

So we are going to win!

Shit, this is worse than the reverse effect.

And your man averaged how much even with practicing with them?

Wow end. OK you said so.

Larry Johnson 158 559 3.5 54 3
Kolby Smith 112 407 3.6 19 2

If it was not for the "long", Your nut nectarine would have had same yards and even worse average.

Herm won't know until after he reviews the tape.

Kolby comes in and rips off 150+ behind the EXACT SAME LINE.

In one game against the 31st ranked run defense, he did. It's not like Kolby was putting up those numbers every week. He didn't come close to that mark for the rest of the season.

Well, it sounds like Kolby is starting, which is a bit frustrating. I was really starting to look forward to this game to see what Charles can do. Kolby is just okay. I really wanted to see what speed behind out o-line could do.

Unreal.

Herm's been saying for the last couple of weeks that they need to try to get Charles more touches, yet when this golden opportunity arises to do so, he starts Kolby.

What a fucktard.

Kolby had one good game. Otherwise the run game was crap all year. Priest did jack squat. What games were you watching?

50/50 with Kolby starting is just fine. Charles isn't a starting type of back. The problem will be if the split is more like 70-30 or even worse.

Getting Charles 15 carries and three or four catches is just fine.

Do you think Charles is going to get 20 touches?

I sure as hell don't.

I hope I'm dead wrong.

I kind of expected Smith to get the start, since he's been there before.

Both backs cut well which will be needed against the Tenn. D ... LJ setting out is probably a god-sent .. because Tenn. would have just stacked the line and mauled him ....

I agree most with this post. I think that Charles and Kolby will do a lot better behind this O-line simply because they both have the speed to bounce outside if necessary. LJ would just fall down after hitting his own linemen. Honestly though the RT and RG positions are one of the major reasons why the run game is falling apart. Until Herm gets SackIntosh, and Adrian "I'm jonesing for eating turf" Jones out of there we're going to be taken advantage of in both the run and passing game.

Charles could still end up with a greater share of the touches even if he's not starting.

Probably not because the Chiefs will probably end up running fewer than 30 times total if the Titan's defense comes to play.

Which is exactly why Herb needs to be put at RT. He is a much better pass blocker than SackIntosh. Unless Herm has Brodie on his sh**list and wants him injured?:shake:

Why do people think Charles has the ability to be the starting HB as opposed to the change of pace back? Isn't Charles right around 200lbs? He isn't built to carry the ball 20+ times a game.

Who in this thread said anything about carries?

All I've seen mentioned is touches.

Get the ball in the kid's hands as many times as possible. Herm says they have to find a way, but never do.
