if not then they should be in the discussion.

They don't even have the league's worst record THIS YEAR, and you want to call them the worst NFL team EVER?

You apparently don't watch much football. Or get enough oxygen to your brain.

I can handle we are the shittiest ball-club in the league stuff, but ever come on K.C. sucks now but not to the depth of what Tampa Bay or Arizona have been subjected to in the past.

Look, NFL teams simply don't get dominated in the box score the way we do. Detroit and KC are two of the worst team in a long time in the NFL. Denver self-destructed, and gave that game away....

And Seattle is probably the third-worst team in the league.

yup i agree, it took 4 Turnovers from Denver to beat them. Any Medicro team with +4 in the turnover margin would have won by 4 touchdowns.

No - not the worst team ever, but they are the worst in the league this season. They're also the worst Chiefs team ever - at least that I can remember and I've been watching since the early '70's...

On a related topic - Herm Edwards is pretty close to being the worst HC in the league as well as the Chiefs all time worst.

I think there's a message there...

These are in the 'when are we scoring our 100th point' thread...

http://espn.go.com/page2/s/list/football/teams/worst.html

#6, '91 Colts... 143 points and 14 touchdowns.
(Chiefs are on pace for about 205...)

#1 '76 Bucs, < 9 points a game, shutout 5 times.
(...which is 12.8 ppg)

This is where we could end up...

#2 '90 Patriots... worst offense and 2nd worst defense in the league, and five games with a touchdown or less.

#4 '71 Bills... worst offense and worst defense in the league.

So I thought Id dig into the numbers a bit and see how we compare to the 76 Bucks, we’re not THAT bad right?

Bucks
Avg Passing 137 yards
Avg Rushing 77 yards

Chiefs
Avg Passing 137 yards
Avg Rushing 117 yards

Not even close. But they're pretty bad, and manage to consistently exude a "bumbling" kind of vibe. It's not that they're losing...it's the fact that they play football like a Nicaraguan soccer team that was handed pads/helmets 15 minutes before kickoff and herded out onto the field.

Bengals fan here, I don't fully know the background of your records. But we have had one winning season within' the past 18 years. Think you can beat That losing streak?

Naw, they have way too much talent to be the worst team ever.

Coaching... well, worst coaching staff ever... yes!

Based on the Sagarin ratings (the pure points one that takes into account margin of victory), we are the worst team in the league this year, and the worst team since the 2004 2-14 SF 49ers. Going back to 2001, only the 2001 Cardinals and 2004 49ers are worse, according to the numbers.

Even Frank Ganz was able to muster kick ass special teams. What part of the Chiefs has Herm improved?

Actually, Skip, our special teams are much better.

We don't have a kicker, but outside of that, pretty solid ST.

They'll probably end up as the worst Chiefs team ever.

That's probably the better question. This might be the year with a slew of horrible teams. As bad as the Chiefs have been, can anyone say that Detroit hasn't been worse? The Bengals have just been outclassed in their games, but they've been competitive. They will break through eventually, probably against the Chiefs.
Are we worse than the '77 team? That is the real question.

No worse than that.
