Hell, I'm embarrassed to explain my story to people, when they ask where I'm from, and then ask why the hell I'm so loyal to the Chiefs, but they have to respect my loyalty at this point.

Being from TN, I could easily buy, and wear a Titans Jersy at this point, and no one would blame me,...........but it will never happen.

I once went out with a girl who wasn't particularly attractive. Maybe a 6 or a 7 by today's standards. She did, however, possess an extraordinary and somewhat unusual gift - she was double jointed throughout her rather slender body and could, in fact, sit on her own head. My confession is that I went out with her three times and, to be honest, it wasn't for the conversation.

I feel terrible about it.

I was six and living in England at the time. I was going upstairs to bed and he was sitting on the landing, smiling as I walked up. I wasn't scared even though I didn't realize who he was. He patted the stairs next to him and I sat down. He asked if I knew who he was and if I was being a good boy. I replied, "No and yes." He just smiled. At that point, one of my brothers walked right through him and smacked me on the head.

I told my brothers about it later on and they just laughed at me. A few years later (after we had moved to America), I found a picture of my grandfather and realized who I saw that night.

When my daughter was 17 months old we took a trip back to Baltimore to visit my mom. While we were there she identified an old ID card of my grandfather's as "grandpa Joe", though she had never before seen a picture of him - at our home I had none for her to see. Her explanation was that sometimes grandpa Joe called her from heaven. The whole thing was a little creepy.

I'll tell the short version of the one I've told before.

I lived in a rental house in the early 2000.
The house just always gave me the willies...especially the basement.
I was living pretty bare bones at the time.

Anyway, one night I was awakened by a loud "rustling" noise....Imagine if someone were standing next to you with a fist full of plastic bags and a fist full of paper bags and was rattling them like antlers(deer fighting) or something. very loud.

Anyway, I'd thought I'd seen it before in the night, but attributed it to "sleepy eyes"....but there it was, a large, black, 3D "shadow man" standing-leaning over the far side of my bed, but there was significant noise. I woke up angry...probably scared shitless, that turned to Fight instead of flight....and I yelled at it, something like "Get the Eff out of here!" type stuff.

I immediately heard a loud crash, and then silence and I went back to sleep.

The next morning, when I left for work, I noticed glass all over my yard. The north and east side attic(unfinished attic) windows were blown completely out of their frames....spread a long, long ways across the yard.

There wasn't a leaf off of a tree, no rain, no storm, no wind.

The house felt less "creepy" after that, but I bought a house and moved not long after.(coincidence).

People at work revealed that it wasn't the first time that house was associated with odd stories.

I'd have attributed it to a very realistic-intense dream if not for the very convincing broken glass, with NONE inside or in the frames.

I am sure the trailer I grew up in was haunted....many many things would happen there. Even after my dad died and my mom got rid of the trailer and moved, the man who bought it and made it into an office heard weird things in it and would "feel" things. He wouldnt stay in it after dark.

I am at work and cannot go into details but I will when I get home if you want to know specifics.

Oh and my daughter lived in an apartment in Springfield and the basement had those devil signs whatever they are called painted on the floor, my dog Sassy would not go into the basement at all. One night Ashley was in the bedroom upstair and sassy literally went flying across the room downstairs and hit the wall. The chain that was on the door at the top of the basement stairs slid off its holder and stood straight up. They would sometimes see a flash of light come from the top of the steps and see a vision of a man on the steps. It was damn scary there they did move after only a couple of months in which they put up with a lot of crap.

The first time I went duck hunting I was 10, popped my head out of the duck blind and saw all these ducks just swimming around......I was thinking this was going to be like shooting fish in the barrell, loaded my gun and immediately starting firing.

Then my dad started yelling at me.

I couldn't tell you what it was. I don't know the difference between some of the things you've listed to tell the truth. I've never studied it, never had premeditated thoughts about this thing. I'd thought about ghosts before, and I'd heard many convincing stories, but they were almost always "see through people"...

This was just a very large, very dark "shadow man". I remember Caudle telling a story about a similar "thing" and he said something about it tilting its head like a curious dog, and I think that might have happend.

Tell the truth, I've never even googled it to see if its "common" or has a name.

I didn't like it, It didn't feel "nice" and I'd say it was something that didn't play on the good team. It was like a raider fan of boogie men, who you knew would shank you for a corn dog.

Not even close, but I'll steal one of his lines if it helps my daughter not be afraid. We have to make Daddy the Paul Bunyon of hunters for Lions and elephants sometimes too. Why elephants come into her room, I'll never understand.

I've brought this up here before, so I'm not going to go into full details either.

But, years ago, I used to work at the Johnson County Industrial Airport. I worked there for a little over three years. Anyways, weird things were always happening, particularly at night. (Worked the night shift). I always blew things off as nothing more than the wind or something other. Never gave any incident the consideration that it might be a ghost. I didn't believe in that stuff.

One night changed it all though. I was fueling the jet truck on the western side of the airport near the abandoned hangar when I heard someone approaching me. It was dark and still very hot and humid outside. I couldn't see anyone, but it sounded like someone who was in great distress. My defenses told me it was one of my co-workers messing with me, but there was absolutely nobody around but me. All of a sudden, it was like this "creature" was standing right before me and it immediately grew frigid cold around me. There was this area right around my body that felt like it was 20 degrees all of a sudden. I couldn't make out the voice, but it sounded like someone crying out for help.

Scared the freakin' crap out of me. I stopped fueling and drove that truck back to the airport faster than you can imagine. All the while shaking and stuttering. Later, we all went to the bar after work, and I was still shaking. My friends were asking me what the hell was wrong and I wouldn't tell them. But, after awhile, I finally broke down and explained what happened. They couldn't believe I didn't know the airport was haunted all that time. But, it certainly made me a believer out of me after that. They all went on to say it had been featured on A&E, History Channel, etc. I had no idea.

Anyways, the story is some pilot crashed many years ago into that hangar and he's the one haunting that airfield a many of nights.

I know what you mean about the "not feel nice" part whatever was in the trailer I grew up in was definately not nice. There was an area in the hallway you almost froze to walk through. At night when i would lay in bed I didn't want to even look into the hall it felt like something was right there watching me. One night my brother who was about 8 at the time and mentally handicapped started screaming, he said there was a bad man sitting on the sofa. There were also time you could feel an imprint of a hand push up on the matress of the bed and start gently shaking it. It was frigging freaky.

I worked at a nursing home once where they swore some old woman still walked around the halls, I thought yea right. Until one night I saw the reflection of a old woman in a gown walk past the window. Olathe - New Century Air Center - This location is the former Olathe Naval Air Station, a combat pilot training center from WWII through the Vietnam era. The base was turned over to the local Johnson County Government in the Early 1970s and converted into a commercial airport, industrial complex and business center. Sometime in the late 1950s or early 1960s, A botched night landing in bad weather resulted in a pilot loosing his life when he missed the runway and ended up a ball of JP4 fire in the side of an aircraft hangar. This hangar complex on to which, the airport control tower is connected, is the current home to an Army Reserve Chinook helicopter unit. Paranormal events occur throughout the building. Security guards report voices, whistles, footsteps on the floor and on overhead catwalks. Locks refuse to stay locked and doors open and close without wind or human intervention. Even the occasional apparition makes an appearance. The New Century Air Center was featured last year on an A&E special, "Haunted America."

They have plagued Hangar 43 for more than 50 years and employees and staff members have dubbed the elusive spirit who haunts the place the "Commander". Really?

Here is something strange, I was flying into KIXD around the spring of 2006 in a cessna 172, coming up to olathe for my uncles 40 birthday. Well to make a long story short, I flew from KOUN (Norman, OK) to KMIO (Miami, OK) to drop off my kids, then on to KIXD, I did a landing at KMIO with zero issues, all was well. Coming into KIXD on a long final from the south into runway 17 and notice that the wind really was picking up from the north, which is no biggie flying in the midwest, as I was approaching the airport, things just felt funny? I went ahead with my radio calls and was cleared to land by the tower.

As i touched down the left brake locked up. I mean just locked up and started to smoke the tires. I was like holy crap. The plane spin immediately to the left and I am looking at runway lights and the control tower right in front of me. I shove the power to the firewall, as soon as the runway lights disappeared under the nose, I pull aft on the yoke, trying to prevent a aerodynamic stall. Next thing I know, my landing lights are shining on the control tower guys face. The horror on his face was priceless. I immediately smashed right rudder and right alerion and banked over to better than 60 degrees of bank and started to fly runway heading away from the control tower...

The tower guy comes on and ask me WTF happened.. I proceeded to tell him.. I was shaking like a leaf in a hurricane... I thought that was the end of me. He game me vectors for a long pattern back into KIXD. When I touched down I kept my feet away from the brakes and rolled out as far as I needed to...

So I guess strange things do happen at KIXD....

yeah if anything goes wrong on landing.. You should always apply power, maintain a postive rate of climb, to get yourself clear of trouble...

We practice "go arounds" with students all the time. The have to know if anything isnt right, to go around and come back for another try...

Only problem was I was wheels down and losing lift/airspeed quickly when it locked up. So I applied power and waited for the runway lights to disappear under the nose. It is a pretty wide runway...

Problem is the ramp is pretty big as well, but at 70 Kts, is gets small in a hurry...

I needed new boxers afterwards...

Wierd thing was I have a mechanic look at it the next day and nothing was wrong with the brakes or wheel assembly...

Embarrassing story:
WHen I was very young, my family used to go to Table Rock Lae every summer for a few days. We had a friend with a boat, so we'd go out on the water, and ski, and such. At one point, they tried to teach me how to ski. The problem was, they never told me that when you fall, and your skis fall off...it's a good idea to let go of the rope.

...I never did...I never did.

Ghost story:
Living in St Joe, rather than live int he dorms, a couple of friends and I rented a house. It was definitely haunted. ZThere were always some really freaky things taking place, and two people who lived there before us had killed themselves. Alone one night, I was playing Madden on my Sega Genesis. I paused the game, and went back to the kitchen to cook dinner. When I came back...the game had been played. Not just unpaused...but actually played. The score had changed for both sides, and my team had the ball again on 2nd and 3. Chairs were always moving...it was a creepy place.
After we moved out, the next tenant killed himself.

I can't say I remember it, but can tell what I was told happened. A few years ago I was in a pretty bad ATV accident, don't remember most of the details, but was hospitalized for a few days. Anyway, when I got to the ER, they were worried that I wouldn't make it (broken skull in a few places, one pretty close to my spinal cord). My girlfriend was in the room with me, and later explained that I had an hour long conversation with my mother like she was in the room with me. My mother had died about a year before this happened, so my girlfriend was very worried at this point. Needless to say I made it through the experience, but some people say I have never been the same since.

Kinda lame and it may be common with others as well, but it seems weird too me.

I live on the top floor of my building in the corner unit. Sometime in the Spring I was home alone and heard a loud thud and a high pitch scratching noise in the bedroom. I went to check it out and a perfect sillouette of a large bird was scratched on the window. Its happened a handful of times since then, only when I'm at home alone, and its a large black bird that hits the window and leaves the sillouette with the sprawled wings and everything. So, about 3 weeks ago I'm leaving work on a Saturday and I'm walking to my car in the parking lot and a large black bird is sitting on my luggage rack just staring at me. I looked at it for a bit and finally swung my lunch box at it to get it to fly off.

Like I said, maybe that's a common thing for people, but it always seems to happen when I'm by myself.

I knew your story would suck.

I lead kind of a boring, drama-free life as much as possible.

Ok here is a weird thing that happened...I started a thread once about ATV accidents and someone posted that very same day about a ATV accident he had. hmmmm

Didn't figure I would post my story there because I don't recall the details of the accident, only being in the hospital a few days later. Everyone on that post describes the accident in great detail which I can't do.

This is a little embarrassing, but I like to put on a black robe and change my voice, and go visit all the ICUs in the area, talking to half-conscious people. I feel it helps them.

Alright....

When I was about 10 years old, I had a dream that I was in the hospital. There were Sesame Street characters on the wall, the nurse would put a band-aid on my arm, and my grandma would come in and take me for walks down the hallway. I told my mom about this dream one time, and she told me it wasn't a dream. I had double pneumonia when I was two years old. My room at the hospital had Sesame Street characters, the nurse would put a band-aid on my arm to calm me down after giving me a shot, and my grandmother would take me for walks down the hallway to get me out of bed for a bit.
My first memory is that when I was 3 one of the kids somehow got me over the head with a cinder block, I remember the trip in the car laying on my Mom's lap in the front seat screaming and even remember at the hospital that they wanted to cover up me up with a sheet, but I kept fighting it because all I could think of was that I wasn't dead, and they covered up dead bodies that way. Of course they were just doing it so that they could stitch me up without me seeing them, but damn, how the heck a 3 year old would know that is what they do to a person in the hospital when they die is a bit odd.

Back in the mid 90s I was working a night-shift job about 125 miles from home.. One nite driving home I keep falling asleep, about 20 miles from home there's a lane-medium with a small 12 inch curb on it.. I woke up on the medium, after getting back on the road.. at the end of the medium it looked like someone standing there.. But when I got closer it was the biggest-frickin'- black dog you'll ever see.. It was sitting down at the end of the medium it's head was window height of my 1/2 ton pick-up and it had big red glowing eyes.. As I went by it was grinning at me .. After I passed it I looked in my rear-view mirror and all you could see was those red eyes .. That my friends was the " devil-dog" you've heard of that haunts highways waiting for people to crash .. PS he didn't get my soul that night ......

I was in critical condition after a car accident about 15 years ago. While in the hospital, unable to move and tethered to tubes, I awoke to a "calling", and I will swear to this day that I saw 3 guys in black robes at the foot of the bed summoning me. I dont know if they were death or what, but I wasn't able to make any noise, and low and behold, my mother came into the room and they sort of just went away. Pretty freaky.

Yo mama's so ugly that even Death runs away from her.

You know they tell us as pilots that if we see strange things, lights or objects in the air, we should never submit a formal report on our sightings...

They say it is career sucide...

I havent seen anything other than a random satellite or International Space Station in orbit... Yes you can see those things from 40K feet above the earth...

After the first two paragraphs, I now don't believe the third. What did you see?

On another line of stories.....I do have one that used to embarrass me to no end, and I may have shared it before.

My first Bull ride.
Short Story, As I left the house with my bag of gear, complete with bell klinking...my dad said "don't bust your ass, son".

I got on my bull, dug in and nodded and hung on pretty well, until I got loose on the rope, bent over to the right in a spin and then sling shot slammed over the other side....and caught a back hoof right in the keister.

Thats right....a bull stomped right down the middle. A bulls-eye so to speak. I know it broke my tailbone and when I got up, I felt the breeze in my pants as the entire back seem was ripped from belt to crotch. I stood up, doing my best to smile and look tough, and I felt the blood dripping on my boots.

thats right....I had a gash right in my crack....a cracked, crack. My only relief as I hobbled out of the arena, I felt back, and at least 2 fingers went into a previously not-there hole.....but I felt down further and there were still 2 large hang downs attached.

I was too embarrassed to go to the doctor for the stitches I needed, and didn't get them.

The worst part was after I got home, trying to slip in, clean up and get out headed back to college before my folks found out. I threw away my blood soaked drawers, stuffed my crack with TP and headed for the door, just in time to hear my sister ROAR in laughter.

She came out with my ripped, blood soaked underoos laughing hysterically. Of course momowanian saw it and flipped her gorde....and followed me to the car shouting "LET ME SEE!! LET ME SEE!!!" thinking I was dying.

I informed her that it would require my death for her to EVER see that wound.

Then there was the whole limping into class late the next day......eventually telling my friend, who spilled the beans thing....

yeah...that is an embarrassing story, but the longer I'm away from it, the easier it is to admit.

I fear having to explain that scar to a doctor someday.

Mine isnt a long story, but its damn disgusting....

Do not read this if you are squeamish.

The first girl I ever hooked up with just had an abortion a day and a half earlier. Thats not the embarrassing part though....I don't know how to word this correctly, but I had blood, lots of it, all over me afterwords, and when I went home, my mom was waiting for me at the door and asked what the hell happened to me and I told her that my friends dog got hit by a car and I was trying to rescue it...Yeah, there was a lot of blood...gross.

When I was 8 I awoke one night to a strange sound and peeked from the covers to see what I can only explain as some sort of creature squatting on a table that was in front of my bedroom window. This thing was looking out the window and I remember being scared shitless when it's head turned towards me.I laid perfectly still and ended up somehow going back to sleep.

Okay, the really weird part, mom always kept a fan in that window during the warmer months and I'll never forget her coming into the bedroom the next morning to wake me and then asking,'how in the hell did the fan get outside the window?'

I bolted out of bed to the window and sure enough there was the fan still plugged in and running yet dangling on the outside.I tried to tell the story to mom but got the old  instead.

By being there in the moments of people's deaths, I've experienced a lot of "paranormal" type stuff. Things like people taking their last breath at the very last note of singing amazing grace, or saying something like, I'm going home tonight and then actually dying that night. It's interesting. I can't pinpoint it being coincidence or something else, but my faith tells me there is something more at work.

Never really had any paranormal experiences, but I oddly have enduring 'memories' snapshots really from early in my existence.

1. Laying on [what I presume is] my mother's lap, with a view of other people's knees and shins, as well as the couch they were sitting on across from us, in what I later found to be my parent's first house. They moved from there when I was one.

2. Entering the hospital and seeing my reflectoin in the glass door at St. Luke's when my sister was born. I had just turned 3.

"Science is more than a body of knowledge; it is a way of thinking. I have a foreboding of an America in my children's or grandchildren's time -- when the United States is a service and information economy; when nearly all the key manufacturing industries have slipped away to other countries; when awesome technological powers are in the hands of a very few, and no one representing the public interest can even grasp the issues; when the people have lost the ability to set their own agendas or knowledgeably question those in authority; when, clutching our crystals and nervously consulting our horoscopes, our critical faculties in decline, unable to distinguish between what feels good and what's true, we slide, almost without noticing, back into superstition and darkness."
