Microsoft has sent out an alert about a critical out of cycle update that will be released at noon central. This would initially appear to be one of those once-per-two-years super critical updates that requires immediate attention. There hasn't even been media chatter prior to today on this, so this would seem to be fairly big considering most updates consistently stay on cycle. It's very rare for them to release an update like this out of cycle.
The update applies to all versions of Windows. The risk profile seems pretty high on this one, so please consider manually running Windows Update today. Especially those of you in IT out there...
