GOODELL WANTS A WORD WITH LARRY JOHNSON####Posted by Michael David Smith on October 26, 2008, 10:29 a.m.
Things haven’t gone well for Chiefs running back Larry Johnson recently, and they might soon get worse.

Johnson, who has been accused of several instances of off-field misconduct including threatening a woman and spitting in her face, has been summoned to New York to meet with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting.

Frequently, when an NFL player is called in to meet with Goodell, a suspension follows. That was the case for, among others, Adam “Pacman” Jones, Chris Henry, Tank Johnson and Brandon Marshall. It’s not clear yet whether Johnson will also get a suspension, or whether Goodell will determine that the discipline already handed down by the team is sufficient.

For Johnson, a league suspension could be costly: Schefter reports that if Johnson is suspended, the Chiefs could decline to pay $5.5 million worth of bonuses that were referred to as “guaranteed” when he signed his contract but that haven’t yet been paid.

He'll probably get a 2 game suspension. We'll decline to pay the $5.5 million that's left over. We'll trade him in the offseason for a 6th round pick.

Saving 5.5 million and Clark might deem this season a success.

LJs mom was going to be on the Campbell's chunky soup commercials, but she came with a black eye and had to cancel at the last minute.

Was that an attempt at a joke or something?

My advice to LJ is to make sure and go to a few strip clubs in NY.

I don't know who else listens to that Nick Wright show on 610, but I like the guy when I get the chance to listen.

He's been hammering this issue all week and arguing that if LJ is going to continue to get in situations where's he beating different women (allegedly), then he may need to go.

Yes, a poor attempt.

Why, why, why did the Chiefs ever sign this guy to such a huge contract, knowing his past history with women? Is it legal for a team to have a player see a Psychologist for evaluation before handing out such lucatrive contracts?

Because in the modern day NFL you dont sign RB's (whom are a dime a dozen to replace) to huge contracts. Unless you are Carl and Herm, where you are trying to restore that 90's magic.. You know run the ball, control the clock, kick FG's and win with defense...

Who cares if we save the Hunt family $5.5m. Will that put us $45.5 m under the cap?

Really the only radio show I enjoy listening to in KC. I share his thoughts on LJ.
