Kansas City Agrees to Terms with CB Tyron Brackenridge

Oct 30, 2008, 1:19:41 PM

Kansas City Chiefs President Carl Peterson announced on Thursday that the club has agreed to terms of a two-year contract with CB Tyron Brackenridge. No other terms of the agreement were made available.
Brackenridge (5-11, 189) rejoins the Chiefs after originally entering the NFL as a rookie free agent with Kansas City in 2007. He saw action in 13 games (one start) a year ago, registering 16 tackles (13 solo), one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and 10 special teams tackles as a rookie. The Pasadena, California native returned a QB Philip Rivers fumble for a 50-yard touchdown at San Diego (9/30/07). Brackenridge attended training camp with the Chiefs in 2008, but was released prior to the regular season.
The Washington State product played in 21 games (12 starts) in three seasons for the Cougars, producing 56 tackles (33 solo), 5.0 stops for loss and three INTs. Brackenridge began his collegiate career at Chaffey Junior College in Rancho Cucamonga, California where he tallied five INTs and returned two for TDs. He was a prep standout at Upland High School in Upland, California.

Did they let Patterson go? If so why does that non-tackling waste of skin Leggett still have a spot?

I don't know why we kept Patterson, or Legget over Brack anyway. I thought Brack was developing well in the nick.

Leggett is there to waste space, and help Carl get over Priest Holmes career being over. #31 never looked worse...

I thought Brackenridge had some potential. I guess they let him go for a reason. And re-signed him for a reason.

We will have the only training camp next year where guys get cut and aren't all that dissapointed.

Because they'll know it isn't really over, just wait for the mid-season call ups like in the major leagues .....

(Barth / Brackenridge)

I've always felt that Brack was better than Patterson and Leggit, sucks to see he isn't good enough to make 31 other NFL teams though... I think that says a little something about the talent level of the Chiefs.

How about the coaching level ?

It's the end of the game last week, The Jets are in our red zone trying to mount a comeback & our coaches call a defensive play that puts Patterson out on an island all by himself to cover Coles ??? WTF ????

I strongly believe that all 31 other teams in the NFL would've had their #1 or at least #2 corner on him with immediate safety help and double coverage in that situation.

NO other team would've had Patterson all alone on an island with Coles in that game situation.

If that's the case, then just either IR him or cut him.

It looked like Patterson had pretty good coverage and was able to get his hand on the ball. It just took a superior catch. I guess that the Herm bus ran over Patterson.
