That's normal if it included prep work. Didn't insurance pick up at least 50%? If you don't have insurance you should discuss it with your dentist. They'll usually give you a break if you're not insured.

I took that route last year and I regret it for the most part. I had an old filling come out and he told me that in order to fix it properly I would have to have a root canal at a cost of over $1800. I opted for the $99 tooth pull...it was pretty much painless and even though it was one of my back teeth that is not seen I kinda wish I had gone ahead and saved the tooth.

I'm still walking around with a screw in my mouth from a year ago. I got the implant put into my jaw (with a temporary screw coming out as a placeholder), and then my dentist quit, and then it took me a while to get a new dentist, and then it took a while to get the records moved, and then they decided they wanted to fix a filling first, and now I have to get another periodontist consultation, and then maybe they'll put the crown in. I've literally had the head of a screw coming out of my gums since about last November. I'm just glad it's not a front tooth.

I dunno. He was just gone, and in his place was a new dentist who looked a little bit like Joseph Mengele, and who showed an unnatural interest in my silver fillings. I elected to find a new dentist.

My implant is going to be around $4,000 by the time I finish, and the coverage was 0% because it's considered cosmetic. Cosmetic? I busted a tooth and it couldn't be saved. I guess I should just walk around with a big hole there?
