Any one with kids should love this little project / toy.

There's 2 types of engines you can make.
one seems a bit "eaiser" although neither require an MIT degree to cunstruct.

I made one this afternoon in under an hour

kinda sounds like pop corn going off once it starts moving.
Did some research, and found out people have actually made working full sized boats that operate on this very simple "jet water" system.
