Pinkel can't seem to be able to consistently motivate his players. He's never been able to.

Did you watch the first half?

Some terrible throws, no doubt. But what one has to consider is that this is a talented player who has to be constantly pressing because of the utter craptitude surrounding him.

As we've seen tonight, even when the throws are near perfect, it doesn't matter. All I'm saying is that I'd like to see him perform with competent receivers.

He should probably have 2 or three picks right now, and it's not due to the incompetence of his receivers. The guy is just horribly raw. Again, I wouldn't want any part of him this year. He's a 3 year project.

And Maclin just fists KSU.

Josh Freeman is all tools no performance.....if people want to talk about taking someone who's risky that's risky because you're thinking a guy who does a ton of stupid things will all of the sudden not do them anymore at a higher level of play than he faces now.

His team is shit. This creates an environment when a player who desperately wants to win will find himself pressing, all the time. This doesn't lend itself to great performances.

With more talent around him, I think you see a different player.

And as Banks drops a great throw...

Like I said earlier, you are basically drafting an arm and a body and hoping that he learns how to play quarterback. He's had some pressure tonight, but it's not like he's been running for his life.

He also knows one speed on his passes--2000 mph.

No, he's not, but he's not a statue. That's all I'm saying.

For the record, I don't think this team will have a chance at Stafford b/c of where we'll be drafting, so I'd take a chance on Freeman at the top of round 2, assuming he's there. I would not draft him in round 1.

There's a such thing as a calculated risk....the only way I'd ever think I could make Josh Freeman into a good QB based on what he is as a QB and not what he is physically would be if I had the best QB coach in the league...

Does he need serious coaching? Of course, I'm not arguing that in the least. IMO, however, the criticisms of this kid go over the top. Doesn't throw overly well from the pocket.
Lacks touch on the short and intermediate throws.

I'm not saying that they are in the same league as prospects, but I think you'd be better off spending a 7th on Patton than a 2nd on Freeman. Next year's gonna be a step back. Every fan knows that, so it'd be easy to pleasantly surprised.

It's all about expectations.

I just don't want to miss out on enjoying a really good seaon when I get to see one. God knows we've seen much, much worse.
Exactly...

We will lose alot of talent, hopefully the young guys can keep a solid program going and build up to another top 15 team

That's why I'm hoping Tech makes it to KC.

It's a win/win.

We either beat them...or...

I love that guy.

I had two buddies over watching that game. I think we enjoyed it almost as much as that guy did.

Eh, this season has been a pretty big reality check for both teams... perhaps a bit more on the Mizzou side, since they beat Kansas last year and because of last year's BCS thing, and the fact that Mizzou was taking another step forward this year while Kansas was expected to take a step back.

I figured Kansas could at least beat Nebraska and USF, and at least put up a fight against Tech. Likewise, I figured Mizzou could beat OSU and put up a fight against Texas.

Oh well, there's always basketball season. :D

That night is one of the few times I've lost a chunk of time due to drinking, so it's a little creepy.... especially when being out with a group of people I've never met in person and being told about my drunkenness and facial scars the next day via the internet.

So let's see here...

Missouri plays Iowa St. next weekend. They should win that game.

Kansas plays Texas next weekend. Not sure KU has a shot on this one, but then, anything is possible.

A Mizzou win @ isu next week + Texas' win over KU basically makes the KU-Mizzou ticket two days after thanksgiving worthless, other than the rivarly and bragging rights, IMHO.
