So I'm involved with a startup company and we've create an online, real-time sports game called Good Call Football.

If anyone has ever played QB1 in bar, it's based on the same premise: predict the next play of the game and score points.

In our case, we were fortunate enough to win a Facebook grant to develop the game for their platform, so at the moment it requires a Facebook login.

http://apps.facebook.com/goodcallfootball/

I'm hoping that you guys can give it a play and share your thoughts (good and bad) here. Feel free to compain in this thread about any bugs you encounter (shouldn't be many, it's a pretty good app).

Finally, as part of the second phase of the grant competition, we are positioned to win a larger grant to continue development of the game. The 2nd phase of the competition involves online voting for our application.

So here's my naked plea.

Join our Facebook Group here:

Vote for our application here:
http://apps.facebook.com/fbfundvote/contests/109/entries/3380

You can vote once per day. Please consider doing that, if you can.

And if you have any questions about this you can read about the competition here:

Sounds interesting, though it's not so much "good" call as it is "stupid predictable OC call". But still, it should be fun.

It might be interesting to start comparing how high the scores go under various OC's. You could develop some sort of predictability measure for coaches! Seriously, if you're not planning on logging data already, you should. I'd bet you could get some publicity later on by publishing an article like that.

We are hoping to hire a larger "referee" staff (the guys who log each play of each game) if we win. We will definately plan to cover most all game next season. It'll help if we win the 2nd round prize.

That's a pretty good suggestion. I'll pass it along.

Go ahead. Fair warning, some will call it spam since you don't post there regularly and give you a hard time throughout the thread. There's a couple guys on there who act as self-appointed spam guardians.

I remember several years ago that MNF (Or was it SUN Night Football?) that had the guess the playcall, by clicking a run/pass button, and after that, they person would have to guess who would carry the ball or what QB throwing the ball to the correct WR during the gameplay.

ABC did that with college football games, too.

I can do really good on Chiefs games...

opposing teams running back runs up the middle, breaks 6 tackles and gets tackled at the 20. next play, run to the outside, breaks 4 tackles, touchdown
