For me, it's lasagna. I love eating it, but I invariably have excruciating heartburn about one hour later.

Poncho's. It's a 24 hour mexican place with cheap burritos. I think you can get a huge steak burritto for less than 5 bucks. Doesn't taste too bad when you're under the influence of something, but you pay for it the next day.

Ethiopian. I've been going to little place near Clark and Belmont called Mamma Desta's Red Sea Restaurant for almost 20 years (the owner and I have grown old and fat together :D ). Wonderful, exotic, spicy food, but let's just say that the post-dining experience is far different at 43 than it was at 24.

I still like it, but it doesn't like me. It's a gastric disaster, but I've still gotta have it at least once or twice a year.

I'll be dining at Reza's restaurant on Sunday. It's on Clark. Do you know of it? If so is Mama Desta's reasonably close? On my way back to Iowa I can perhaps get take outs on Ethiopian food.

I am not familiar with Reza's, but Mama Desta's is on Clark just north of Belmont, about four blocks south of Wrigley Field.

If they do take out, I've never seen it.

pizza and anything with milk in it.

I'm NOT lactose intolerant...I'm allergic to milk. Anything more than a couple tablespoons of milk will make me bloated, break me out, have the shits, stuff my nose all up, and have itchy watery eyes and, etc, etc, etc...and lasts for a 2-10 days depending on how much I have.

Heh... my friend is lactose intolerant. One night at college, a big group of us did the gallon challenge, then ran across campus in our boxers. When we got back to the dorm, he ran straight into the bathroom. After about half an hour, we knock and ask him if everything's alright, and we hear back, "I thought I was farting."

Buffalo wings literally go straight from in my mouth to out my ass in a matter of minutes, and it burns much more going out than going in. I always know it will end bad if I eat them, but they taste so great that I usually can't help myself.

However, I am noticing more food items are starting to give me problems. For instance, I munched on some chips and house salsa last night at a mexican restaurant and it upset my stomach during the night. I had the feeling this morning that I was going to crap, but I had to meet my accountant, and wouldn't you know it, in the middle of our meeting I had to excuse myself to go take an explosive shit in his restroom. I'm the type of guy that when I have to go, I literally have to go right then or I will go in my pants.

My grandmother has chron's disease, and I'm starting to get scared that I am going to inherit it.

Pico-de-Gallo at every 10th Tex-Mex restaurant or so causes an allergic reaction that closes my throat to where it's painful to swallow. Then I get nauseated. Generally a one hour nap will clear it right up but it's not fun in the meantime. But I keep trying to eat the Pico. They're putting something in it and I cannot identify the ingredient. No clue.

Bananas, melon and avocados. All three bring out hives on my chest and a swollen itchy throat and tongue. Sad thing is I never know when it will hit. Sometimes I can eat a whole bowl of guacamole and nothing happens, the next time I just taste it and I want to tear out my tongue! Same with the others.
But I’m still not gonna give up my banana/chocolate shakes, melon/ prosciutto or fresh guacamole!
