Didn't see a thread. Anybody watching this one? Cole in foul trouble, but the twins are making up for it. Half time score is 42-31 KU.

Jayhawk Television Network. Channel 5 where I'm at.

Here is a link to the affiliates.

It is also an Espn+ game I think.

I started the game late, so I'm a little behind. Still 3 minutes left in the 1st for me.

Perhaps you're doing it wrong?

Seriously though, one of the downsides of youth is more stupid fouls and more whistles, so I've been bored from time to time.... OTOH, I'm excited to watch the team make progress this year.

We played like shit for most of the game. A good team is going to take advantage of the things we tried to give away to NMSU.

Morningstar was back to his usual suck. I want the good Morningstar back.

Tyshawn Taylor is fucking awesome.

Well, from what I saw, they looked good. Had to take my daughter out to the ER because of a possible med issue, so I missed most of the 2nd half.

Nice to see Releford and Thomas get some meaningful minutes...

Other than Collins and Aldrich, this team is very raw, unpolished, but very freaking talented!

So the other night when he looked unconscious making all those 3s was not good?

Reid played sloppy in the first half. Glad to see that he got it together in the second half. However, both he and Morningstar were defensive liabilities most of the night last night. The only thing is can the guys on the bench play defense and rebound any better? Apparently, Self does not think so. So for now, we are stuck watching them.

Obviously, Cole Alrdrich makes this team look so much different. But, he needs some help down low. The Morris twins are not very tough down low as of yet. I'm sure Self will get them to play that way eventually, but right now it is frustrating watching them try to lay it in at times. It is I like what I see out of Quintrell Thomas, though. That guy knows how to seal his man and put the ball in the hoop with authority.

The defense last night was not very good. For as well as they played against Kent State, I thought they were much better on defense than they looked last night. I guess that is the thing with a young team. It will take some time for that consistency to become a staple of the team.

I do like how Sherron has become the unquestioned leader of this team. When he needs to, he takes over a game.

Just wait until conf ball starts big mouth. Look at the fuckin talent he was playing against. Anyone can have an on night and make a few 3's here and there.

He got destroyed in the 'Cuse game.

Kinda like the MU fans that think Matt Lawrence is worthy of starting. that guy's fuckin awful and Morningstar's just as bad.

I'm not saying Morningstar is a great player by any means. I'm just saying that he has done alright so far and will still be a decent role player. Should he be a starter? Well, if he is doing the best job out of the guys that play that position, then yeah, he should be the starter. So, if guys like Releford or Appleton or whoever are not on the floor and if we assume that they have more talent/athletic ability (which may be true, I am not arguing one way or the other), then they are not playing up to their potential as of yet.

I will admit that I have not watched all of the KU games this year and I only have caught parts of some games (Syracuse - only caught 1st half). From what I have seen of guys like Releford and Appleton is great talent, smoothness on the offensive end as far as driving and finishing. But we all know that Self wants great defense and rebounding. From what I have seen, those guys (mainly I've noticed Releford) have not done any better at rebounding and defense.

I will agree with that, luckily that is something that can be coached though.

Speed and quickness and agility is something you can't coach and it's something that Morningstar doesn't have, and shouldn't be starting once we start facing better competition because those guards will eat him alive.

BTW, I was watching some of the highlights from the tournament last night on this site: http://www.ncaasports.com/mmod/player/

I was reminded of how scared I was in that Davidson game in the final minute or so. Stephen Curry is ridiculously good, so glad he passed that ball off for the final shot.

I don't think it is homerism, I think it is faith in Bill. He will get a lot of lenience at least from me for the next 5 years or so. I am putting my trust in Bill in that he knows what is best for the team.
