Injury riddled Pats turn back to Junior Seau

Patriots re-signed free agent LB Junior Seau.
The band is getting back together! Seau takes the place of outside linebacker Adalius Thomas (broken forearm), who was placed on injured reserve Friday. He is back in football shape after offseason rotator cuff surgery, but the 39-year-old Seau isn't going to boost the Pats' edge rushing problem. Dec. 5 - 10:04 am et

A damn near 40yr old linebacker. Nice. What are they thinking. Surely they can sign somebody off a practice squad better than him.

Rodney Harrison had that happen, so maybe they can end their careers together on the same note?

Never really hated him, hated how he dominated us for years. The NFL could use more players like him with his desire and all around proffesional demeanor. The Chargers were idiots when they let him go. Up until last year he still performed at a very high level.

They all could use his anger, he was a beast back in the day

It's a fill-in-the-gap signing to plug holes on an injured squad in this lost year. It's not exactly a long-term thing.

You think the Pats would want LJ for next year?

you consider a playoff contention year a lost year? Man, it must be nice to have that feeling

I think the Pats would be leading contenders for LJ.

He's got a bit of a Randy Moss vibe about him now, the Chiefs may be looking to dump him off for whatever they can get. The Pats may float a 4th our way to see if lightning could strike twice...

First, yes. It's Championship or lost year here in the Belichick/Brady era.

Second, we're not even going to make the playoffs. We're one game out of first, but we are completely hosed in all tie-breakers. Even if we sweep, we'd need either the Jets or the Colts to pretty much completely collapse to get in.

If he's a dedicated football player, then you're probably right that the Pats would do that.

Corey Dillon was a complete dick, but he worked out ok for us. Moss isn't even a dick. He was just juvenile and made some stupid decisions. He's VERY popular on the team with other players and the media, by all accounts.

Dillon was more or less disliked, but accepted because he gave 110%.
