Jon Beason was picked two spots after Dwayne Bowe in the 2007 draft. Can we all agree we'd much rather have him?

While it would be great having an ascending linebacker playing for the Chiefs right now, I have zero complaints about Bowe being here.

I am at work so can not follow the game for another hour or so but I have not idea who Beason is. However, I am very pleased to have Bowe. If Bowe was not here we would have who, Darling as our #1 WR? I don't think so.

I don't have many complaints with Bowe, either. I'd just rather have Beason.

From Wikipedia about last year:
Beason had a great rookie season, finishing second behind Patrick Willis in tackles for a rookie with 140.[2] He finished second in the NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year voting behind Willis, receiving two votes.

This year: 103 tackles, 80 solo. 6 deflections, 3 interceptions

:homer:Ain't gotsta be a homer to love watching him break two tackles and go forty yards, then punk out Derrick Brooks in the backfield on third down.

But it doesn't hurt.

Sounds wonderful. It scares me though to try to imagine this offense without a viable WR (like we haven't lived through that in recent years).

I agree. however, we're seeing what life is like without any semblance of a respectable LB corps. So it's a give-and-take situation

And I certainly didn't want to be one of those "WE COULD'VE HAD (so-and-so)" armchair-draft-guru types about the picking Bowe, I was just throwing it out there.

Can Romo or any quarterback for that matter, overcome pressure problems that loses games?

I'm curious...

Hate to say it, but that slug Sims has made some plays in that last series-tackle(dubious, but nevertheless credited), a blocked pass, and I think the penalty no NC was holding Sims.

So I go into tonight with a 28 point lead over my opponent and he has Steve Smith and John Kasay left to go. I figure unless Smith explodes against Tampa, I'm likely to win.

2 minutes left and if Carolina gets a first down, they can just go to the victory formation, but fuck no, DeAngelo Williams, cocksucker that he is, breaks one off for a 40 yard touchdown, allowing Kasay to kick the PAT, so that I lose by .48 points.

Giving them home field advantage already. They still have to play the Giants in the Meadowlands --

I don't care one way or another. I'd would rather see Eli play in warmer weather on the road.

I don't know if you're listening to Steve Young discussing Jack Delhomme.

Steve said, Delhomme is a shaky QB, and if the Panthers are looking to go deep into the playoffs -- Delhomme has to clean up throwing to the passing lanes. Whats his name -- the ex-running back for the Cowboys turned announcer -- didn't see it.

Watching him play tonight, whenever the Bucs came with pressure, Delhomme had a lot of trouble making plays. He did throw 2 INT.

Ultra Peanut
12-08-2008, 11:34 PM
Honestly, Delhomme is not someone I'd want to build a team around.

That being said, Smith, DeAngelo, JStew, and that LINE do a pretty good job of offsetting any shakiness.

Sure-Oz
12-08-2008, 11:40 PM
Delhomme wasn't bad before his injury, he all the sudden can't pass worth a shit...

Before he got hurt he had i believe 8 tds and 1 int last year
