If you were a guy looking to be a GM, who would you rather go to
Detroit
KC
or possibly Cleveland

Cleveland. More money and a great tradition w/ rabid fans.

I would say KC because they have the best chance of winning instantly.

Look how crappy the AFC West is, would you really be surprised if the Chiefs won it next year?

I don't think sexier has anything to do with it....it's the relationship between ownership & the front office that will matter most.

KC! Tons of salary cap space, young roster, and nowhere to go but up.

Detroit.

Largest TV market of the three, NFC team. "black % blue division", can't get any worse.

For a coach, Cleveland is a gold mine. For a GM, I would say the Chiefs have alittle more to work with if you are a GM type to make your mark. Detroit is intresting situation. You have no idea where to go with it.

I would think we are the most attractive. We have tons of cap space, a really young team, and a high draft pick.

The Browns aren't firing Savage either.

If I'm Detroit, I'm hiring McDaniels and signing Cassel.

Calvin Johnson is an absolute beast, and Kevin Smith is really coming on.

Draft an offensive tackle to go with Cherlius with the first pick, then grab yourself a DE with the 2nd first rounder. Focus the rest of your draft on getting another linebacker, DT, S and guard.

I guess I'd choose Detroit just for the challenge of it. But as in most things, it would come down to money.

I'm going with KC. You are replacing a 21-year fixture who 90% of the town has been screaming should be fired for the past 5-10 years. You will get treatment comparable to Dayton Moore. You can build a legend here, and as long as you fire Herm people will pretty much give you the next two years to right the ship, even though we've been rebuilding already for the past two.

In Cleveland, as was stated by Hamas, they already have the pieces in place. It's the "safe" choice, but all you can do is fail. Any "winning" on those pieces will be tied to the previous administration.

Detroit plays in a dome. Nuff said.

Detroit has to be one of the most depressing places in the US right now, I can't imagine anyone wanting to take any job in that city for any reason.

Kansas City
Franchise left tackle? Check
Dynamic #1 WR? Check
Playmaking TE? Check

And of course there are things we have that they don't:

Talented, young secondary
Talented group of runningbacks

And who is this great pass rusher you speak of on Cleveland? It certainly isn't Kamerion Wimbley, who has 4 sacks this year and 9 total since his rookie season.

I could completely smack you for this post but I'll refrain...all in all Cleveland is a better job because they have a base to work with, it won't take long to be hailed as a great GM..

Secondly they have a new stadium and alot of cash flow to work with.

When used correctly, he has 12-15 sack potential. That's a hell of a lot better than anything here.

Detroit.

If Matt Millen could keep his job for so long, you know you'd have some job security. Plus a 5-6 win season and you'd look like a conquering hero.

Sexy is not a word that comes to mind when thinking of those three teams.
"Least like a punishment instead of a promotion" might be a better fit.

St. JOhn (an idiot most of the time) had some great points regarding this. this may be the best job for a GM in the entire NFL.
1. Core of young players
2. Great draft position
3. young and stable owner
4. tons of cap room
5. not a bunch of old guys that are gonna weigh on the cap next few years
6. fantastic tradition and fanbase
7. renovated stadium
This might be the best gig in the NFL. What GM wouldn't want it now
