Report: Chargers will keep Norv Turner in '09

ESPN's John Clayton reports that the Chargers will keep Norv Turner as their head coach in 2009.
Injuries and incompetent defensive game planning wrecked San Diego in the first half of the season, but the Bolts have won three straight and can steal the AFC West title with a Week 17 win over Denver. San Diego is already favored by eight in the game. Turner isn't much of a motivator, but the Chargers' front office likes him because he mostly stays out of personnel matters. If Turner falls flat again in 2009, however, that should undoubtedly be his last season. Dec. 24 - 12:50 pm et

I'm not sure what surprises me more.

Keeping Norval, or the EIGHT point spread.

Both are ridiculous, IMO.

Glorious news, absolutley glorious; the Chargers have found their Schottenheimer.

Wow. Seems like a stubborn refusal to admit a mistake at this point.

Nobody sitting here can criticize Shottenheimer for what He did in San Diego. I know the whole "big game" deal, but he doesn't kick the field goals. what was he his last season 14-2? His offense and defense was very good....his recruiting was exceptional. He's improved at every new coaching assignment. Yeah, He's lost the big game....how long since we've been to the big game? I don't think that I would want him back here again, but I would make a strait trade right now.

Haha, This is awesome. Great team underachieving and they are keeping their coach. I am sure Charger fans love this. As dude above me said, their GM wants a yes man, he has them.

That does need a correction, ergo; Schottenheimer WITHOUT the team assembling skills.

AFC Championship Game = BUST X2.

Chargers getting old with Wildcard the only hope in sight; Schottenheimer.

Case Rested.

Great news. Al Davis is still running Chokeland, The Rat, who has done nothing without Elway, remains in Dungver, and Norv Turner is staying in Sany Eggo. If we can just get a competent coach this offseason, the division crown will be ours!

Wow, you REALLY don't understand how to use a semicolon. Reminds me of "When in Rome..." from Anchorman.

You know, there have been a million-bajillion times I could have called someone on that shit, but I don't do it.

Reason being, it's the content of what is being presented that is important; not the delivery.

It's the same thing with photoshop. Do I work for fucking Walt Disney Studios or ILM? No. It's not the spit-shine that counts; it's the motherfucking IDEA.

Meh.:grr:

Seeing as how I can barely make it through 15 minutes of Will Farrell "comedy", you'll have to clue me in.

Shott probably could have pulled a Cowher if they stuck with him for 15 years.. but instead they get a worse coach.
