Vikings' Punter Considers Changing His Name To 'World Of Warcraft'

I love video games. But not so much that I'd consider changing my name over them. However, Chris Kluwe from the Minnesota Vikings wants to ensure he'll have the highest selling NFL jersey.

Chris Kluwe does two things really well: Punting footballs and playing video games. Kluwe is known for being an avid gamer, so much so that he discusses them on his very own radio show on Minnesota's 93X station. During the season, Kluwe talked about the idea of changing his last name to something that would certainly make any Blizzard fan feel jealous.

"Back when [Bengals receiver] Chad Johnson changed his name to Ocho Cinco, I told the guys at 93X that I was going to change my name to Chris 'World of Warcraft' " Kluwe said. "They said that's too long. So they started calling me Chris 'Warcraft.' I could make a lot of money if I changed my name to that."

It's hard to tell if he's being facetious or not. But considering how much WoW playing he reportedly does, this is something that needs to be taken seriously.

It should also be pointed out that Kluwe recently signed a contract extension through 2013 that will pay him 8.3 million dollars. Not bad for someone whose job it is to kick a ball around for 2 hours once a week. So yeah, Chris, you don't need anymore money. Your life is just fine.

As for his radio show, Kluwe said his listeners would actually prefer if he'd talk less about football and more about video games.

"I think more people like to hear me talk about playing video games than football," said Kluwe, an expert at many video games. "I've played video games since I was 4 years old. I play them a lot more than I kick a football. I kick the ball about 45 minutes a day. I play video games about five or six hours a day. But that's OK. I don't watch TV."

the old raiding PRE BC was very fun I had a blast with my old guild doing MC run's now that the raiding numbers are geting smaller and smaller ppl are starting to become more and more pricks and only bring there elite gourp to raids or friends/kissasses in Wolk its all about who you know.

Yeah, you have to be in an elite guild i guess to get the hard stuff in raiding in WoW. I never raided there. My raiding was Everquest raiding for years. Furthest i got in WoW was doing Alteric Valley. This was all pre Burning Crusade though. Once i got exalted in AV i quit WoW. This was prenerfed AV though.

I started getting into MMO's when I got my new PC a few months ago. I bought WoW and Warhammer online at the same time and started to play both. I must say, with a completely unbiased opinion. I like Warhammer a lot better. I cancelled my WoW membership, I may start it back up sometime.

Becuase people like video games. MMO's are always open, there are always something to do. They never close. It doesnt matter what time of the day it is. If you cant sleep at night, you can fire it up and chances are someone you know will be on to go waste time with.

I do see Blizzard doing some local advertising though if they get wind of the guy.. Blizzard is a cash cow.. And wait till Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 come out.. My lord.. Wow alone has what 11million suscribers?? Say on average they pay 13 dollars a month.. They make 143million dollars a month off of subscribtions..
Not counting extra fees, for people customizing their characters, paid realm transfers..

What server you play on? i have a character still on Bertox, but i am only level 76, i quit during TSS, i tried to play kinda when the burning sea came out, but i only lasted 1 level. lol I used to 3box as well, necro, warrior and a cleric. I am actually still guilded with my old guild. I logged in last week to say hi. lol
