The amount of All Pro's is surprising since they've been picking at the end of each round most years.

I wouldn't say Polian is my only choice for GM. But I'm not gonna cry if we get him. He should definately be on the short list. I'd love to see him in KC.

Colts seem to get 4-5 new starters every year from the draft. I like that....

My vote is for Polian.

I'm very close to switching my endorsement from Pioli to Polian, with the condition that Mike Shanahan would be more likely to be hired by Polian than by Pioli.

The Colts have more drafted starters in the same period than the Chiefs do while consistently picking lower and not gutting their entire team...

Show me how my comment is incorrect.

It just shows the difference in a team that really does draft well and the perception that Herm is a good drafter.

Polian would be a good choice, but I don't see why he would leave Indy when he will have his fathers spot in a few years.

I like how 9-10 of these posts in this thread are totally wasted space, shit slinging by the far left and far rights of CP lore. I almost don't even want to contribute to this thread.

I like the info posted in the OP, good information and really has a telling number on draft success over several years for the colts. How much of this is (percentage wise) on Polian's shoulders? Are we for sure going to get his team that has lead to this if we bring him in?

Also, Mecca - I partly agree with you. They have shown more success over a greater time, and that is something I definetly want for the chiefs too. but 07 wasn't too bad, and 08 may be too early to tell, but an educated guess may led to 08 being pretty close too. The shape we were in from DV, we needed 07 and 08, now lets get the consistancy, Polian or whoever....

For someone that puts a lot of stock into press conference comments, that's pretty funny, considering Shanahan said he wasn't interested in a project like Cleveland, Detroit, and KC.

DeCosta is my #1 pick, but I wouldn't be disappointed at all in Polian.

I just highly doubt he leaves the Colts, when he can hang on for a few more years and follow in his father's footsteps and carry on his legacy with the organization.

Probably right. But if he's willing to try and create his own legacy in a different city, bring him in.

The other issue that is going to get in the way:

The Colts are on a tear. If they continue, the earliest Polian could be interviewed is the week between the AFC Championship game and the SB.

I don't see Clark waiting that long, and just one more reason I'm rooting for Baltimore to lose early.

If he does wait for the Colts season to end, he better be damn sure he can even get an interview with Polian.

I watched his entire PC that day. I never heard him say that.

It has however been reported by John Clayton that is what he thinks. But I never heard Shanny say that publicly.

Wasn't Suggs a Savage pick? I think if he alined himself with a good HC he could be a good GM... or maybe we can just bring him in to be our VP of Player Personel.

Well I don't want anyone who would keep Herm. But I wouldn't be pissed if Savage was our GM, Billick as HC, and Nolan as DC... especially if they brought in a good OC or maybe even kept Gailey. I'm not saying they are my top options, but I really wouldn't mind that happening.

why did you quote me? I was agreeing with the argument overall, we need more consistancy and whoever we bring in, I hope they can do that for us. I only pointed out that 07 and maybe 08 looks to be an improvement in this area of evaluation than that of previous years.

I wasn't hating. Your note was much more concise and/or happened to be connected to the closed link I could find. I'm very lazy online.
