View Full Version : Life Do you talk to yourself?

This has probably been done. I saw a couple of players talking to themselves after plays today and found myself wondering how many people do this. When I was younger I talked to myself, but now I don't.

If you do talk to yourself, to what extent? Single thoughts, replies, or full on conversations? Poll forthcoming.

I talk to myself a lot in my own head. The only time I talk to myself out loud is late on a Sunday when I have been alone at work for several hours. I think it is simple loneliness at that point.

I almost included this. It's exactly what I do. I think to myself a lot. But I left it out because I figure everybody does that.

I sometimes talk to the voices in my head. Does that count?

I used to sit next to a guy that would carry out conversations with himself.
And he's one of the smartest people I know, and respect him greatly.

I sometimes find myself commentating my own Madden game if it gets exciting. It's fucked up.

i used to talk to myself during football games... it was normally after i messed something up, and i would say something to the extent of, "what the fuck are you doing?"

... outside of that i don't really talk to myself, so i think it's kind of a football thing...

Is cussing out loud if I'm mad and no one is around considered talking to myself?

That's a good question. It deserves it's own poll option, but I can't add it now.

I tend to at work since I am generally always alone. If somebody were in here and I was not told about it.....

No, I don't talk to myself. I do make mental lists in my head but I don't say them out loud.

For some reason though, I announce the name of the person listed on the caller ID before picking up the phone.

My wife always gives me shit for doing it when she's around.

I have no idea why I do it.

I say dammit Brian a lot when I do something stupid. It happens a lot as a post on here. Mostly from having to correct typos.

I talk to myself when I'm pissed off, like chasing a cow alone in a field....or working on something thats not going well.

I also talk to myself when I'm problem solving. Talk my way through it.

Usually not even aware of it.

Some of my 50something coworkers used to get a kick out of it when I had my headphones on or was "in the zone" where I tune out the world(which I do when I'm concentrating)....right brain thing I think.
