NFL Draft Dog (http://www.nfldraftdog.com/Mock_Drafts/2009_nfl_mock_draft.htm):
3. Kansas City Chiefs: QB Sam Bradford, Oklahoma
The Chiefs can't really think Tyler Thigpen is the long term answer at QB. They will target defensive end, wide receiver and offensive tackle later in the draft.
Sports Fantasy Guide (http://sportsfantasyguide.com/category/nfl-football/2009-nfl-draft/):
3. Kansas City Chiefs - DE Aaron Maybin - Penn State
I think that Tyler Thigpen did a pretty good job as the Chiefs’ starting QB in 2008 so I wouldn’t expect them to draft Matthew Stafford with the 3rd pick. With Dwayne Bowe, Tony Gonzalez and an emerging Jamaal Charles the Kansas City offense looks to emerge in the 2009 season. The Chiefs’ defense is a major weakness holding this team back. Last year they drafted DT Glenn Dorsey out of LSU but their pass rush is still lacking. They will need a outside pass rusher to get more pressure on the QB which they finished dead last in the NFL with 10 defensive sacks.
Aaron Maybin is coming off a great year at Penn State and is ranked as the #1 DE. Maybin is 6′3″ 250lbs with speed and quickness coming off the end and should really help a Kansas City defense in 2009.

3. Chiefs (2-14): QB Sam Bradford, Oklahoma
Tyler Thigpen played very well and deserves credit for his efforts this past season, even if the Chiefs select a QB with this pick he will still get his chance to win the starting QB job for the Chiefs next season but Thigpen is not good enough to allow the Chiefs to pass on one of these Top QB’s. Yes they have many other needs, one is finding someone that can get to the QB, Brian Orakpo and Aaron Maybin (if he comes out) would make sense as well obviously, but when you have a chance to get a Franchise QB, unless you already have one in place, (which the Chiefs DO NOT) then it is NO WAY you can afford passing on a chance on getting one.
34. Chiefs (2-14): DE/LB George Selvie- South Florida
Weller and Bryan (http://classic17.wordpress.com/2009/01/03/2009-nfl-mock-draft-vi-0103/):
1 3 Kansas City Matt Stafford QB Georgia
2 34 Kansas City Victor Harris CB Virginia Tech
3 67 Kansas City Antonio Coleman DE Auburn
New NFL Draft (http://newnfldraft.com/):
3. KC Chiefs: Matt Stafford, QB, Georgia
I don’t know about this pick but everyone keeps telling me Stafford is ready for the NFL and he will be good. So I guess the Chiefs can take a shot at him with this pick in the 2009 NFL Draft and hopefully he can turn their program around.
35. KC Chiefs: Jonathan Luigs, C, Arkansas
The Chiefs need a lot of help and Jonathan Luigs is a great Center who could also play guard in the NFL. He is considered to be the 2nd best center to get drafted this year. The 2009 NFL Season is important for the Chiefs to turn around their team.
67. KC Chiefs: FIli Moala, DT/DE, USC
99. KC Chiefs: Larry English, DE, No. Ill
131. KC Chiefs Kevin Barnes, CB, Maryland
Saturdays2Sundays (http://saturdays2sundays.com/?page_id=3):
3. Kansas City Chiefs — Michael Crabtree, WR, Texas Tech
Tyler Thigpen has actually performed well in his first season as a starter, an interesting twist of fate for a team that last year held Brodie Croyle as their future quarterback. Additionally, the cost of signing a quarterback like Matthew Stafford here would be overwhelming. Instead, Michael Crabtree gives the team a viable option to pair with Dwayne Bowe for the future. Crabtree, with his combination of size, speed, and productivity, is clearly the best wide receiver in this draft class.

3. Kansas City Chiefs: Malcolm Jenkins OHIO STATE DB
Kansas City needs a QB, and some OL help but I chose the best defensive player remaining on the board instead. Jenkins can be the shut down corner they desperately need.
