View Full Version : Football Forget conference pride, I will never cheer for Oklahoma

1. Tebow gets tons of attention, but he's a gamer.

2. An Oklahoma win does nothing to help the other Big 12 teams, for which I cheer for one of them.

Totally agree that rooting for Oklahoma is out of the question. My niece goes there, and I told her that even that wouldn't bring me to support those bastards. Every time I see the football team, all I can think of is Barry F'in Switzer.

Same goes for Kansas, but then I'm a Mizzou grad.

If I don't root for OU, who am I gonna root for? An SEC team? :Lin: If OU wins, Bradford declares which is, a) good for the Chiefs and, b) good for the big12 north since OU will have to break in another QB next year.

The only downside to Florida winning is that DAKC's head will swell even bigger than it already is, and it's already so big that Phobia's head looks small by comparison, but I assume that at this point he couldn't really get much more annoying that he already is, so it probably wouldn't make that much difference anyway.

Fuck Oklahoma. I hope they get slaughtered. 4321

So according to your philosophy who should be there? Texas Tech? They beat Texas, right? But wait. Oklahoma absolutely pounded Texas Tech. So they all had a claim to it, right? So then who gets to go to the show? What is the solution? Thats why there is a tie breaker a la the BCS ranking. It could have gone either way, but that is how the VOTES fell.

No, Clemson is not as fast as a team. Of Florida's 8 fastest players, 4 are on offense and 4 are on defense. And, yes, they do have 12 players who run a sub-4.4 40.

You root for the BAD team that wears Red and White in the Big 12, I can see why you would hold so much amnimosity.

As for an OU win not helping other Big 12 teams, maybe it doesn't help your bunch of losers, but OU as national champs with Texas having thier take on why they should be #1, then the 3-4 other teams that played competitive with these teams, I can't see how an OU win could do nothing to help other Big 12 teams as far as national respect.

I'm a KU fan but this thread if ****ing retarded.

Obviously, I live in Oklahoma now and I was pulling for them tonight.

How the **** is Bob Stoops a choker when he has been to 4 BCS games in the last ten years? He won one, lost two fairly close games and his team shit the bed against USC(one of the best teams of the last several years)

All of the programs most of us root for would give our left nut for that kind of track record. Also, when he took over this program they are worse off than Sam Hall's Cornhuskers were under Callahan. I'm betting Sam would give Callahan a rim job to get his Stoops.

I can understand people hate OU and that's perfectly fine. There are teams I have a blind hatred for as well. The myth that they can't win a big game any more is complete and utter bullshit. They could have easily won tonight. Granted other teams may have deserved to be in their place but they weren't.

Go on hating OU but please stop the Stoops is the Marv Leavy of college football shit. He did win a Championship with an undefeated team who beat anyone who was close competition.

This is the same as calling KU a joke for losing so many final fours and only winning a few championships. It is truly ****ing retarded.

Yeah, OU will still be down next year but I would bet they are still better than KU, Nebraska and Mizzou. I bet they win many national championships before any of these teams ever sniff one as well.

We better beat them this year because the chance won't come very often.

By the way. I agree with the oringal point of the thread. I don't root for conference teams that I don't like either. It's the dancing on OU's grave shit that makes me laugh. I wish KU was so unlucky.

There's the Switzer stuff, and Stoops said he didn't know about Rhett Bomar's job at the car dealership. Oklahoma has a bad reputation.

I also find it interesting that you dog Stoops for Bomar but Osbourne definately knew Lawrence Phillips threw his bitch down a flight of stairs and let him play in the National Championship game. In fact, Osbourne was ALWAYS under fire for not suspending troubled players. Plus, Osborne was considered the coach who couldn't win the big game in the 80"s. I find your view a bit hypocritical.

You can look at any major program and they have shit like this going on sooner(no pun intended) or later.

Nebraska has no in state talent and hasn't been able to recruit nationally since Osbourne. They may never be at the level they once were. I like Nebraska as much as Oklahoma to be honest. I just find it a joke that people are considering Oklahoma a failure. The tide will most likely turn for them if they keep getting in those games.

As a KU fan I'll take 4 title games and 1 BCS title every ten years all day long.

You are entitled to your opinion though. Enjoy your 6-6 to 8-3 seasons while Stoops continues to fail with Big 12 titles and BCS championship appearances.

Nebraska has never been on probation for violating NCAA rules. Go ahead and point to Lawrence Phillips like everyone else. He was suspended for the first half of that game, which was costly in a close game. OU has almost as many probations as national titles.

And welcome to Chiefs Planet, a place where you get ripped when your team loses. I suggest you get some thick skin or leave.
