View Full Version : Chiefs Pioli's 3 Big Issues--How About 4??

The Yahoo Sports article says Pioli's three big issues are Herm, Thiggy, and Gonzo.

I would add a fourth-- LJ.

Here's a back who could carry a team in the right system if healthy.

He's making a boatload of your money, and glad to dog it and whine if unhappy.

He is worth either a) premier back in your system, or b) a draft pick or two and money toward salary cap, c) an expensive, cancerous whiner in your clubhouse.

I expect he is a big issue to Scott.

Herm - not an issue.

Thiggy - not an issue.

Gonzo - do not fuck with the only positive on our team. Know when to say when...

Herm - FIRED
Thigpen - Benched or Released
Gonzo - Traded
LJ - Traded (after renegotiating his contract)

I don't think "dogging it" is fair
and since his benching not at all

1. Herm - Fired or not?
2. LJ - Trade or not? I have a feeling that it will be up to the new Head Coach as well.
3. Thigpen - Can he be developed and can he run a traditional style offense?

I don't see Gonzo as an issue. He's under contract....and he has to be happy that Pioli is coming in...because he knows how to run a franchise.

RBs don't carry a team. Who cares about LJ? I'd be shocked if he were still around, though.

1.) New Head coach
2.) D-coordinator
3.) O-coordinator - possibly Gaily
4.) Herm - see #1
5.) 1st round pick - trade down for another 1st, draft a DE & RT in the 1st.
6.) Gonzalez - You KEEP a FHoF player who is still performing at the highest level! He's the best player on the team! Convince him that he WILL be apart of a SB team!
7.) Thiggy - Draft a QB in the 2nd or 3rd to compete. If needed, draft Tebow in 2010.
8.) LJ - anger him by telling him "you're no Jim Brown", improve the O-line, keep him & RUN him!

Gonzo will never be traded.

There will never be a fair meeting of the minds over compensation.

Gonzo is the fucking Cal Ripken and Jerry Rice of TE's.

He's Brett Favre playing Sharpe's position.

Forget it...

Dealing with Herm is easy, you fire him.
Dealing with Thigpen is simple, he makes the team but has to earn his job.
Gonzo and LJ will come around, in all honesty the Chiefs are like a new team with Pioli in charge.

Plus his reputation proceeds him. Players have to think this guy is going to get it done.

I don't see any real issues here. These are all relatively uncomplicated matters.

Well, might as well take the bait:

Herm = ?!?!? Are you fucking kidding me? What issue? Buh-Bye.

Thig = Wanna' win a Ring as a #2, or take your chances elsewhere?

LJ = Shut the fuck up, run like you used to, or hit the motherfuckin' hip-hop trail. I'm sick of his fucking shit, I'm sick of him, and I could really fucking care less if he stays on this team or not. He's a fucking disgrace and an embarrasment to Chiefs Football. If you don't like it here, head to the east coast and go jerk-off your buddy Jay-Z; I could really give two fucks.

Tony = If we wants to go get his ring elsewhere, take what you can get and let him go. And yes, that means even a #4 is acceptable.

Hey; you fuckin' asked, and DCS delivered.

It's too bad LJ never had a good O-line to run behind.

???

We already learned he isn't going to get us much on the open market. (although, admittedly we could have tried harder) I don't think there is anything we will get for a TE his age that would be worth his production and his leadership. Tony is not an issue.

I think you are on to something...

Cal put himself and his records before the team, so Tony fits the bill.

Brett in Brett's head is all about Brett, and Tony is all about Tony. Check

Jerry Rice played for more than one team; now if Tony can do the same you
will be three for three!!!!

We should make it a rule that all posters must refer to themselves in the third person. Trading Post Tom thinks it would be a great idea. :)

Thigpen is not the issue... the starting QB situation is the issue. The Chiefs do not have a major financial commitment in Thigpen and he can be easily discarded.

Herm - FIRED

Thiggy - let him compete for starting job

Tony - KEEP

L.J. - TRADE/Keep (if you can get good value - if not keep him)

Problems solved.

IMO, the team gets better the second Herm is fired. All other issues are secondary.
